Happy to announce the 0.18 release of Poezio, a terminal XMPP messaging client.
This new release brings better compatibility with python 3.15, Message Retraction support, a new way of showing or hiding groupchat presences, and a lot of typing!

As a teacher, we may setup our home made server to manage the study-practise delivery workflow with the students. #ftp and some... #nginx served for classroom anouncements
some #xmpp has been quite helpful, this course, so that it easily warns me whenever there are 'news' on the server.
Maybe some (real) chat functionality in the classroom is the next natural step
Any hints ? :-) -

a thought popped up in my head:
why don't we just find a way to #xmpp our way in the #fediverse instead for #e2ee encryption?
i find it unnecessary to create another protocol, especially when there is already a federated option like that.
open for comments.

Last year, when I checked, there were 1053 installations of Matrix clients (most of them nheko) and 3124 of #Jabber clients (top 3: #Gajim, #Psi, and #Dino).
Also, 119 Matrix server installs (synapse) and 904 #XMPP servers (most were #prosody, then #ejabberd).
