With your help I was able to made 0.7.8 with redesigned settings, improved webxdc support (still wip and disabled by default) and support for cross-client pinned messages (require chatmail core 2.58).

Parla 0.7.6 with experimental webxdc support! it's not enabled by default because i didn't really evaluate how secure it is, but it's using gtkwebkit on gnome and wkwebkit on macos. (no windows support yet)
When built from source it's not enabled by default and it's an optional feature. If you are a distro maintainer please take that into account.
I'm looking for feedback and testing, i'll do some security assessments before enabling that feature by default. Be careful.

@announcements some of our contributors are using https://chatmail.bsd.cafe relay but also other relays, so there was no problem whatsoever :) Thanks for diversifying the #chatmail relay network -- if the next linux exploit comes along, chatting can survive :)
is it intentional btw, that the iroh relay (for webxdc realtime support) is not running? -

with this the whole thing is running on the client side in your browser tab! the chatmail core is compiled into #wasm
still since you can't connect to IMAP and SMTP from javascript, a proxy is needed to get this prototype working but JUST IMAGINE if chatmail relays would support/allow clients to connect via websocket or http!

There were more recent fishing scams in #Signal
This puts into perspective if the comfort of being able to discover people by phone number is it really worth the security vulnerabilities
With #ArcaneChat, and other #chatmail clients, your family is safe because no scammer can discover and send a message to them pretending to be support, so there is no fishing possible
also, backups are completely local and not uploaded to any cloud, instead each device works as incremental automatic backup

Surprisingly, got my whole family on #chatmail, #deltachat client precisely (while I use #arcanechat).
And it wasn't even me pushing for it, we needed to discuss something via secure channels, got them the choice between signal (secure but centralized) and DeltaChat (decentralized, "invite only", preferred by me) and they just switched.It means that, between them and some of my colleagues, I have now switched my main messaging to Delta/Arcanechat.
I'll have to keep WhatsApp installed because it is used by some of my seldom contacted people (few colleagues, suppliers, etc), but back in the launcher drawer it goes!
