Thanks to all the users who tested and shared their thoughts and feedback around the webxdc support!

With your help I was able to made 0.7.8 with redesigned settings, improved webxdc support (still wip and disabled by default) and support for cross-client pinned messages (require chatmail core 2.58).

Маємо невелику зміну щодо нашого Delta Chat сервера.
chat.zashm.org переходить у режим підтримки. Сервер продовжить працювати, отримувати необхідні оновлення та обслуговуватися, але реєстрацію нових користувачів відсьогодні закрито.

Для тих, хто вже користується сервером, нічого не змінюється — ваші облікові записи та сам Delta Chat продовжують працювати як і раніше.

Чи відкриємо реєстрацію знову? Поки не знаємо. Можливо, повернемо її в майбутньому, а можливо, сервер так і залишиться доступним лише для наявних користувачів.
Сам сервер ми не закриваємо — просто припиняємо його подальше розширення та залишаємо в режимі підтримки. 💜

@phil86000 super article! Whatsapp était mon dernier lien avec les GAFAM, j'ai aussi beaucoup tardé à le supprimer. Même si pas mal de gens refusent d'installer un autre outil pour échanger comme #signal ou #deltachat, je survis aussi et j'envoie des sms...
Ce serait sans doute plus embêtant si ma femme ne l'avait pas pour certains groupes (APE, sport des enfants, asso du potager, etc). Plus il y aura des gens qui le désinstalleront, plus des alternatives seront adoptées à grande échelle.

Il y a plus sécurisé et surtout indépendant sur le long terme, il s'agit de Delta Chat qui est vraiment excellent.
Perso je travaille avec, tous les jours, dans plusieurs groupes. Ma famille m'a rejoint aussi dessus et est très satisfaite de la qualité du service.

Parla 0.7.6 with experimental webxdc support! it's not enabled by default because i didn't really evaluate how secure it is, but it's using gtkwebkit on gnome and wkwebkit on macos. (no windows support yet)

When built from source it's not enabled by default and it's an optional feature. If you are a distro maintainer please take that into account.

I'm looking for feedback and testing, i'll do some security assessments before enabling that feature by default. Be careful.
