As another step to reduce my interaction with tech-oligarchy, I am migrating my personal website from #Microslop #Github to a smolass VPS.
But because I simply can't do one thing at a time and just get to desired results in a straight path like a normal person, I am doing this with as much Guix as I possibly can; so far with a #Guix built #container that runs on non-guixos VPS (cool right?)
Although I am certain nobody ever visited my site and I barely ever post there (trying to change that), but in case you subscribed to some #RSS feed of mine, I apologize for the breakage.

Esto me está ocurriendo a mi (y a muchos otros usuarios de #Microslop ) al intentar acceder a nuestras cuentas aunque usemos la contraseña correcta. Cambiar/restaurar la contraseña no resuelve nada (además de hacerte log out en cosas como el Outlook del móvil).
En mi PC aún se salva el percal porque me accede usando el PIN asociado al Windows pero no lo veo sostenible a largo plazo.
¿Alguien sabe de soluciones o miro de saltar a #protonmail del todo? #Microsoft #outlook

New gas projects linked to a mere eleven data center campuses around the US have the potential to create more greenhouse gases than the country of Morocco emitted in 2024.
Emissions estimates from air permit documents examined by WIRED show that these natural gas projects —which are being built to power data centers to serve some of the US’s most powerful LLM companies, including OpenAI, Meta {Facebook}, Microslop, and xAI —have the potential toemit more than 129 million tons of greenhouse gases per year!
As tech companies race to secure massive power deals to build out hundreds of data centers across the country, these projects represent just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the potential climate cost of the LLM piramid scheme.
Michael Thomas, the founder of clean energy research firm Cleanview, has been tracking gas permits for data centers across the country. He calls behind-the-meter power “a crazy acceleration of emissions.”
“It’s almost like we thought we were on the downside of the Industrial Revolution, retiring coal and gas, and now we have a new hump where we’re going to rise,” he says. “That terrifies me in a lot of ways."
Microsoft, meanwhile, is reportedly looking into purchasing power from a Chevron-backed natural gas project in West Texas. That single project, according to its permit, could emit more than 11.5 million tons of greenhouse gases each year—more than the yearly emissions of the entire country of Jamaica.
