Out of sheer curiosity, i tried the Editor's suggested "#Refinements" for #Clarity and Vocabulary.

Wow. Das ist mal ein Post den ich fühle. Ich maintaine selbst das ein oder andere Projekt und habe auch schon Slop-MRs bekommen. Leute würden gerne beitragen, ihnen fehlt aber das technische Wissen - genau das sehe ich als Maintainer und muss dann den Merge dieser Änderungen verhindern, weil sie z.B. unbeabsichtigt etwas anderes kaputt gemacht haben. Bei Menschen lernen diese aus ihren Fehlern, versuchen es besser zu machen und es sind schon wunderbare langjährige Freundschaften aus gemeinsamen Lernen entstanden.

Bei Slop wird die MR direkt neu gebaut und rennt auf 10 neue Wege subtil gegen die Wand. Deren Autoren sind nicht böswillig, nur hilflos unnütz. Das passiert inzwischen schon auf der Arbeit, nur hier ist dann kein kleines FOSS Projekt in Gefahr, sondern eine Umgebung die wortwörtlich das Licht anhält und reale Wirkung hat.

Der zeitliche Mehraufwand eine Slop-MR zu reviewen ist enorm, nicht nur wegen des vielmals größeren Umfangs, sondern auch wegen der möglichen Folgefehlern, sollte man etwas übersehen. Denn der Autor ist kein Mensch mit einer Reputation oder Ehre der sich schämt die Lebenszeit von anderen durch Fehler, die selbst Erstsemester nicht schaffen würden, zu verschwenden, sondern nur jemand der verantwortungslos einen Prompt gehämmert hat und meint damit etwas Gutes getan zu haben.

This is quite old news, but it was todays news for me. France is planning to go over using open source OS and software, which is hugely positive in my eyes. I don't think Microsoft made any statement regarding it. But I can imagine that it's a serious matter for them if there will be a trend in Europe.

2.5 millions of Microsoft licenses will be terminated.
