  1. So, is NOW the time to switch to global task handling as CalDAV items that run on my Fastmail account, for everything from code issues to personal tasks? Link is to their April announcement of an MCP server. For me, JMAP or CalDAV to link into calendars and todos in any app is what I want.

An MCP server for Fastmail — N...

  2. I'm gradually coming to the conclusion that to keep #fastmail and #gmail semi in sync, I'm going to have to write something. Ugh.

Imapsync does part of the job, but has limitations. Pimsync does part of the job but has limitations. Native calendar syncing works decent, but may as well do that since it's simpler than email and contacts!

Thankfully there looks to be decent #jmap / #imap / #caldav modules for #golang I can use, but ugh.

  7. #linux #foss lovers, what #calendar application would you recommend to interact with my #caldav ?

I find #thunderbird workable but quite slow (seems to reload content every time I switch to a new week) and not very good looking...

I'm already conquered by #planify for #tasks management, and would love something equivalent for calendars.

    Thank you!

PS: I always use #foss for more reach, but I am most happy to purchase the app or pay a subscription, if the app is at least #opensource

  17. Migrated personal calendars to semi-my-own Nextcloud. I have very strong feelings on both Nextcloud's idea of locale/time/date configuration (clearly whoever made bunch of Europe locales with 12h clock format is not particularly familiar with Europe) and of how synchronization to Android must be done to local calendar with DAVx5 (it took several tries until I had all mine and friends' calendars exactly once), but... that's a price for freedom.
