  1. I'm gradually coming to the conclusion that to keep #fastmail and #gmail semi in sync, I'm going to have to write something. Ugh.

Imapsync does part of the job, but has limitations. Pimsync does part of the job but has limitations. Native calendar syncing works decent, but may as well do that since it's simpler than email and contacts!

Thankfully there looks to be decent #jmap / #imap / #caldav modules for #golang I can use, but ugh.

  2. #linux #foss lovers, what #calendar application would you recommend to interact with my #caldav ?

I find #thunderbird workable but quite slow (seems to reload content every time I switch to a new week) and not very good looking...

I'm already conquered by #planify for #tasks management, and would love something equivalent for calendars.

    Thank you!

PS: I always use #foss for more reach, but I am most happy to purchase the app or pay a subscription, if the app is at least #opensource

  3. @dirkschroedter #go #holstein #go falls ihr noch #admin braucht :akkowink: :blobcheer: hoffentlich ziehen die anderen #bundesländer wie #bayern und #BadenWurttemberg bald nach? Oder gar #berlin ? Oder #thüringen ? Wäre doch mal höchst #sinnvoll
    Plz also #checkout #debian und #mate #desktop und #hetzner und #thunderbird Integration : #kalender sync funktioniert wunderbar #caldav APP #android f-droid.org/packages/at.bitfir

  4. Migrated personal calendars to semi-my-own Nextcloud. I have very strong feelings on both Nextcloud's idea of locale/time/date configuration (clearly whoever made bunch of Europe locales with 12h clock format is not particularly familiar with Europe) and of how synchronization to Android must be done to local calendar with DAVx5 (it took several tries until I had all mine and friends' calendars exactly once), but... that's a price for freedom.

  6. We are making continued progress towards 0.7.
In recent weeks, we have merged many PRs and a bunch of bugs have been fixed, in the 0.6 to 0.7 format importer and the tasks synchronization feature.

Now is a great time to checkout the latest git version at github.com/getting-things-gnom and run "./launch.sh" (or use the "Builder" app!) to help us find any remaining issues.

When testing the CalDAV feature, make sure to do a backup first… but it should work much better than before 🤞

  8. RE: fosstodon.org/@davx5app/116828

🔥 I just installed it a few moments ago on my personal managed Nextcloud instance (hosted by Hetzner), and I can confirm that it works perfectly and is fantastic!

🚀 Just a few seconds after adding, editing, or deleting an event from my smartphone, the changes are replicated in the web interface (and vice versa).

🙏 Congratulations and thanks a lot to @JonathanTreffler (and to @davx5app for this amazing discovery).

  9. so, I spent another fruitful hour and a half or so poking at #TasksDotOrg today, initially just to garden my various todo lists, but then I noticed some unexpected behavior with the first Filter I'd created, and dug into it in order to make it work how I originally intended.

long story short: I succeeded, and now I have a couple Filters working perfectly (I think) which I'd very much needed: an all personal tasks filter, and an all tech-work tasks filter.

#TasksOrg is incredibly powerful software, but it's not 100% obvious how to use it to scratch your particular itch, and it probably won't ever be unless some deep work is done on presets at some point in the future. I'm not complaining that this hasn't been done, the developer has his work cut out for him just debugging & maintaining the software as-is ... and even so, he's now building a desktop app!

anyway, I absolutely *must* do a video on how I'm using the software, because I think it'll help a lot of people get started with one of the few comprehensive #CalDAV tasks solutions available for Android, and soon for desktop.

  11. RE: mastodon.ml/@vint/116719466430

Just accidentally tapped something about "Reset certificates" in #DAVx5 and now it won't recognize my #CalDAV server of choice because of it (???). Reinstalling the app did *not* help, so I have to switch to another solution.

#DecSyncCC seems rather interesting: instead of messing with CalDAV servers, I can use #Synchting (or #SyncUp frontend for it, or other means of file synchronization) to synchronize my system calendar on Android and one on laptop. The concept is sick and I'm excited to try it out!

  15. RE: ma.fellr.net/@fell/11652149028

Meanwhile, I found the perfect solution: @planifyapp

Planify supports reccurring tasks and is just overall pretty nice. I use it to work through a daily checklist and keep track of weekly and monthly tasks. It also works really well as a scratchpad for other little backlog todos. It's getting a ton of great updates recently.

It really encourages you to think about *when* you plan to do something. That really helps me a lot.
