Switched from netsol to #fastmail for email hosting and am very happy. Even switched to their web and ios clients and am impressed. Would be nice if JMAP got more support.

Fastmail @fastmail has been operating on bare metal for 25 years. Their planning and (over-)provisioning strategy reminds me of Wikimedia.

By the way: switching to #Fastmail, including making my email address use my own domain and importing all my old email from #HeyEmail #Hey was quick, easy, and in the end cost something like 40% less. Of course I don’t know yet how much I will enjoy using the interface; but everything I’ve done so far is promising.

I really liked #HeyEmail #Hey. It fit me very well. But at a fundamental level #DHH’s values differ from mine; and in a way that pretty much means I have to switch. So, #Fastmail, here I come.

Would appreciate any thoughts on Mailbox vs Fastmail.

I'm trying to migrate my family off Rackspace mail and thought Mailbox was the answer but it's not living up to my hopes: no shared admin, no monthly CC renewals, support autoresponse saying they are overwhelmed, all POPs are in Berlin. I like German privacy but we are all in the US, so avoiding 5 eyes isn't our top priority.

Oh Ugh! #Fastmail has HCaptcha. Bletch! Tried to do their 30 day free trial and, not only did they seem to block Google Voice numbers, but they have HCaptcha on almost every login/recovery page, and, no thank you. Gonna look at other email providers, but Fastmail is out for me, which is a shame because I love all the things they provide.

HCaptcha is everywhere on almost all account activity things I tried. Creation, login, recovery, and other places. I had to do their accessibility cookie. I don’t know why I did not get there text challenge. When HCaptcha detected I had a Gmail address, they forced me to make an account. I made an account, applied the accessibility cookie, then immediately requested my account be deleted. HCaptcha said my account will be deleted within 20 hours. I can’t express how much I hate HCaptcha. #Email

so far pretty happy with #fastmail. Switched mostly for hosting but their webmail and iOS apps are pretty good.

Une des principales raison c’est j’aime bien avoir mes œufs dans différents paniers, et donc mes emails chez #fastmail et mes contacts chez #zaclys sur #nextcloud.

D’ailleurs, la synchronisation des agendas marche bien entre les deux, alors je ne vois pas pourquoi ça serait pas possible pour les contacts !?!?!

On est en 2026 et je me demande s’il est possible de synchroniser mes contacts entre deux services !!! 🤔🤔

En deux mots, j’ai mes emails chez #Fastmail (ça pourrait être n’importe quel autre service) et j’ai mes données chez #Nextcloud, y compris mes contacts.

J’ai déjà synchronisé Nextcloud avec l’appli Contact sur #Android, et avec #Thunderbird sur #Linux, et je sais que je peux faire facilement pareil pour Fastmail.

Ce que je veux faire c’est de synchroniser directement Fastmail et Nextcloud pour avoir une seule source de donnée à gérer, et éviter les duplications des contact.

Mais je ne trouve rien qui me permet de croire que c’est possible !! ?? 

Est-ce que vous avez déjà essayé ça ? 🤓 Et réussi ??? 🤩

I've been working on a Fastmail Safari Extension for iOS in my free time. It lets you create and select masked emails on the page you're on via the Fastmail API. Think "Hide My Email" on iCloud, but for Fastmail users.

There are a few similar apps on the App Store, but they're all standalone apps rather than a Safari extension, which is where you'd actually need this functionality.

Running and using a debug build on my phone for some time now, but still haven't decided whether I'll bother publishing it. Paying $99/year for a developer account kind of makes it pointless.
