It works. Regenerating driving (downhill) seen on the second graph as spikes. The data transfer to #Influxdb runs really well.

@kuketzblog kenne ich!

I created #GeoPulse accounts for each family member and migrated all location history data from the #Owntracks recorder. The last bit was to switch #HomeAssistant location reporting to it.
I'm not sure we will use GeoPulse often, but it's nice to know we have #SelfHosted location history.
Can't wait to integrate it with #Immich, once we move there.

@rusty1281 Nice! We're getting a R5 soon and was not sure if I would be able to add data in #homeassistant. Any good links to share on this topic? TY 🙇🏻

Smarter Thermostat with Home Assistant
I set up Home Assistant to automatically switch my thermostat between heating, cooling, or both based on weather forecasts, so it stops trying to heat the house on summer mornings or cool it on winter evenings.

Finally finally finally managed to move the sensor to the Arduino Nano Matter and got it to show up in Home Assistant. Getting Thread & Matter to work was … painful and involved a lot of re-pairing/“commissioning”.
Gonna clean up the ~50 lines of code an put it on Codeberg later.

Sighhh don't reinvent the wheel Kids. Get a microcontroller some LEDs and install wled. Also works with #homeassistant and doesnt require you loosing hours of your life on time wasting. Plus DDP capable so you can run it with #ledfx

It's too bad Google is so damn evil. There's LOADS of integrations in #HomeAssistant for their services.
I want to be against it but... anything to bring average people in to foss is likely a good thing. They can figure out they need to abandon Google after they see foss software isn't always crap. -

Okay, so this is pretty geeky and pointless. But I've finally got my GoodNature bluetooth enabled smart mouse traps integrated into #homeassistant and have it triggering phone alerts whenever one of them catches a mouse.
Pretty good for something that doesn't officially support HA!
Mice will learn to fear my technological superiority!
(Note, I have old school traps around the property as well for both mice and rats. I only use the bluetooth smart traps under the house because its protected from the weather and a pain to check regularly, so getting a notification means I don't need to crawl under the house unnecessary)

@hellomiakoda Haha, that's awesome! I aspire to be at your level of #HomeAssistant ideas 😆

I got tired of emailing a company every day insisting they respond, so I set up a Home Assistant automation to do it.
lol.
I'll just leave that automation on till they respond. I used a few {{["One way to say it", "Another way to say it.", "another wording!"] | random}} to change it up, used a time trigger, ticked off business days, and voilà. -

Rather stupid issue with #homeassistant. Selecting Media from menu, there is Web Browser as default audio output to "this device" . When radio browser is installed I can use e.g. my tablet as a radio.
But the browser has thousands of channels, and I want to listen just one. I tried to embed media player to dashboard with fixed stream url, but I can't select audio output to "this device".!?
I *could* pick any network speaker like of my security cameras. But not gonna huddle at backyard corner just to listen news before bedtime.

A moderately productive weekend of #DIY: installed an outdoor camera, routed wiring through the loft, replaced a single socket with a double, and spent more time than planned on ladders and crawling through insulation.
This expanded into debugging the #HomeAssistant integration, supporting two new devices, writing tests, contributing patch PRs upstream, and rebuilding my docker image with pinned patched libraries.
Not quite the simple camera installation my wife had in mind.

@uuj8za ZBT-2 as Thread Border Router seems to have boosted my Matter reliability, but not enough to solve the intermittent failures. #HomeAssistant on dedicated #RaspberryPi4.
