The pre-bent wires I showed last time can be seen at the very top, joining the rim lights to the lever wire connectors. It was very tight, cramming all of that into a corner, but it worked.
The lights around the rim come together where the frame and backing hinge. Power was going to come from the electronics mounted to the base, which meant I needed a connection that would flex when the case was opened, and not rip or torque the LEDs.
My solution was to use one pair of lever wire connectors mounted to the frame, and another mounted to the base. Between those is a lot of extra wire, formed into a simple spring. Now when you open or close the lid, the wires in the middle flex, while the others are locked in place.

Finally got this NMOS-driven RF relay module working. Going to convert it to a PCB and use it for anything from a remote antenna switch to an automatic variable transformer. :3
(Man, this experimental project really took a lot out of me. 😅 )

Hoy por fin, se instaló el timbre en el colegio. Con una primera versión del firmware. Quedaron algunas features por implementar, pero eso lo iré mandando en actualizaciones. Porque actualiza por OTA a través de internet 😉
Entró:
* Actualizar fecha y hora por internet
* Consulta feriados y dias sin clase (incluyendo vacaciones de invierno y verano)
* Administración por medio de una página web responsive
* Permite agregar días custom para los timbres (emis, jornadas, etc) para que no suenen los timbres.
* Hasta 4 timbres independientes
* Timbres totalmente flexibles (selección de dias, horarios y duración)
* Hacer sonar arbitrariamente algun timbre
* Inhabilitar/habilitar timbres globalmente o alguno en particular
* Cambiar configuración de red
* Cambiar credenciales de administrador
* Configuración inicial a través de un captive portal
* Actualización a través de internetFaltó:
* Importar/exportar configuraciones y timbres.
* Capacidad de actualizar la interfaz gráfica.
* Llevar un log o registro de fallos, reinicios y eventos -

Na, habt Ihr einen 3D-Drucker und viel Abfall?
Nervt es Euch, dass vom teuren Filament so viel weggeworfen werden muss?
Dafür gibt es eine coole Lösung. Oder besser gesagt: soll es geben. 😊

I'm back to pre-bending wires again.
This only happens when I'm working in tight spaces, and once I realized I could do this on the Dr. Theopolis build, it's becoming my go-to solution.
I have more tools in my toolkit than a hammer, I swear! #EverythingLooksLikeANail

Anyone used JLCCNC or similar for making silicone moulds, or have any relation opinions or advice or specific things I should read in order to learn more about doing so? I've never done mouldmaking before, but have a lot of 3D modeling, #3DPrinting and epoxy pouring under my belt, so it's a not-too-distantly related field of interest. #maker #AskFedi

OK. I present V1.0.8 of "Mellon”
I cannot believe I nearly hit "Build" last night on this.
I had to rejig the coil antenna placement to keep its net as short as possible (ensuring we don't have any interference).
I had to tweak my crystal and pair of smoothing caps, something @anachrocomputer warned me about.
L3 is at 90º to the antenna, so that *should* minimize interference. I have the keep out zones. I have kept Vias to a minimum. And while some of my keep out zones do have # traces, I think 'm good. #KiCAD #maker #Circuits

My weekend #diy #maker project: a compact, battery-powered #guitar practice amp which is meant to be paired with an effects pedal. It provides a clean 9V power plug for the pedal, and runs off any 10V -> 20V power supply (such as a laptop power supply, or in my case, a 3-cell 21700 battery pack). Internally, the amp uses a TPA3118-based 60W mono class D amp module, a boost converter to supply 24V, and a LDO linear regulator to provide the 9V pedal power. The high… https://tobykurien.com/post-1786374044

I pivoted again on the issue of lighting, this time opting for a line of LEDs attached to the inside of the frame to simply flood the inside with light. This solves one problem and creates another, unfortunately.
Trusting the process, but tripping on the speed bumps.

Got another longboard a couple of weeks ago, and as I start hand sewing a new bag for it I thought I might as well share the first one I made. I don't think I've seen other skateboard bags in other make-your-own-gear posts so hopefully this still counts.
This is the biggest sewing project I've taken on and made a lot of mistakes, but I'm pleased with the results.

I finally came up with something to hang this double sided poster I was given at Christmas.
Wooden rails that clamp magnetically on the top and bottom of the poster with keyholed hangers so I can easily flip the poster over to see the other side.
Nice little afternoon project and I'm quite happy with how the keyholes came out, I thought they'd be much more difficult to pull off. (It's always about making a jig)

In the midst of challenging times, it's been a lovely mix of friend time and work this weekend. I am very fortunate friendwise 🖤 #ThumbRings
