Despite being designed with  Unicode in mind I believe GemText is the perfect format for #retrocomputing + connected to the internet. Exchanging messages, posting on blogs etc.

Unlike markdown and extensions it is purely line-based so inherently simple. A simple conversion can make your 8 bit computer work with it.  You support ISO-xxx or Windows-1252 or other 8-bit encoding.

GemText blogging, chatting, messaging, from retrocomputers  is one standardized  tunnel conversion away (does TLS + UTF-8) encoding and decoding and you talk to   via serial or as you please.

Today was going to be #amiga3000t #BlueSCSI day, but USPS looks like they will BS me again saying arrival today while it sucks wind at a distribution center just over an hour away until at least tomorrow. I think my faith in their reliability was based on the seemingly strict schedule or process they had for Amazon. But there is now an Amazon distribution center five minutes from us and the Rivian vans are rolling… so small shop USPS stuff is hit and miss on promise vs reality.

Here is one of those PowerBook 7.5V 2A power adapters. They have probably all failed by now but they are a nice design and worth saving in my opinion! This one provides around 3.4V with terrible ripple and drops to 0V with slightest load. Not dead. Just very sad. Let’s go! #classicmac #retrocomputing #restoration
