I keep on learning about Speccy history every day. For example, TiL that this rare Portuguese ZX Spectrum model had black plastic keys instead of grey rubber ones, and no rainbow on the side. (thanks @moftasa for noticing)

Zenscript is not really a grown-ass language, it's more like a declarative file format inspired by subtitle files, with time-addressed steps expressed in frames, which allows you to perform certain basic scripted functions in the ZenZX emulator.
For example wait until the machine boots up, then load a binary in memory, then press a key, leave it pressed for the duration of 10 frames, look what a variable holds, and once that variable reaches an expected value, take a screenshot.
I'm adding to ZenZX the ability to grab a file with symbols from Zenas or Pasmo (.sym). So that's the new thing that the script in the screenshot can do, load symbols, refer to variables, and trigger conditions. The two new keywords are:
wait-memandexpect-mem.Of course maybe you can do some of the same playing it manually, and using a good debugger. (or in the case of @stevewetherill , watching the screen border flash 🤣 ) but this is better when you need to run automated tests hundreds or thousands of times.
This is between me and you, but I enjoy doing this a thousand times more than playing any games.

I kicked #Spectrum to the curb two years ago. #ATT #Fiber and #Hulu have been great. But I’ve had one odd gripe with AT&T:
Early this year, my router (I disabled the ATT modem’s NAT) started inexplicably losing WAN. LAN was fine. Just no WAN.
Wasn’t long before I realized it seemed to happen pretty consistently at 5am and 5pm!
Troubleshooting efforts claimed my router was failing. BUT…
I haven’t seen it happen at all in the past month or two.

In a second pass, unofficial ROMs will go under the "Custom ROMs" menu, so the mechanics will be: start any supported machine you like, then replace the ROMs as desired.
Third pass: compose your own Spectrum from the set of hardware features implemented, and call that a new "Machine".

The ZenZX emulator used to have not even a semblance of user interface beyond what the ZX Spectrum itself displays. I'm now bringing into ZenZX the vaguely Spectrum-inspired GUI toolkit I had created for Zenimate. With a little luck I'll be making it easier to use for human beings.

ZenZX is getting Timex Sinclair 2068 emulation. Just because.
This may not look like much but it's the output of a small programme plotting on the screen in so-called HiColour mode.
Also adding Kempston and Sinclair joystick emulation, plus Kempston and AMX mouse emulation.
A Timex Sinclair 2068 is like a Spectrum with extra graphics, and the same AY sound chip that was later inherited by the ZX Spectrum 128k, plus Kempston joystick ports, and some fancy memory modes.

but I'm sure they have seen enough to question things AND EVEN IF was #transparent...
they would make some excuse and see it as not possible (and thereby make sure it's not possible to use it less).
It's almost fascism (#lazy / #uncaring in a different #spectrum.
They really have to #care & not just choose the #easiest way all the time.
I understand to some level - but very #unhappy with the situation & #dependency.

3/ I think #lineage can reduce possessiveness and acquisitiveness - to a similar degree that we have it stamped and forced in today.
But it needs a similar kind of #love "#force" which might in the opposite #spectrum of the #extreme (where you "must" share) while being softer in "#enforcement" (#guidance / #moderation / #testing).
And perhaps always being customisable by #individuals after also, according to where they are and their #different #selves / personalities.

I've been working on updating a decision making process in a #coop from #voting to #consensus inspired by #ietf #decisionMaking process when a colleague made me realize that consensus process is not compatible with many #neurodivergent cognitive styles. It disproportionately favors #Neurotypicals and extraverted ppl while putting more introverted and less verbal type people at a disadvantage. Also it's yet another "social capital" dominated decision making process. Less social capital - less likely you'll actually speak up against the crowd.
The "no one left behind" goal is not fulfilled by the "no loud opposition" decision process. What process does that? We're staying with the simplistic voting for now but adding a prolonged debate. Any ideas? How other #cooperatives do that? Especially #anarchist ones?
