@xan Yes, I went through a couple of displays to find one that does not scale up to full size, blurring out the image.
I used to have a 21-inch MegaPixel Color Display (CRT) but gave it to the late Tony Diaz and settled, after the aforementioned search for a non-scaling LCD, on the 19-inch NEC MultiSync 1990SXp (1280x1024 native). It centers the NeXT display on the LCD.

It's time. Replacement cost for my PC is $8340.60 on PCPartPicker. So I'm going to take out an insurance policy on my PC, for real.
This will be a State Farm Personal Articles Policy. It's dedicated coverage that operates completely outside of my homeowner's deductible. It has a zero-dollar deductible and pay out is on a full replacement cost basis.
By submitting a current build list of equivalent parts alongside my original receipts, the entire rig is fully protected for like $10 per month. I'll find out soon what my actual cost is. #insurance #workstation #homelab #aibubble #economy

Alright, new workstation install upcoming. FreeBSD 15.1, and the criteria for success is not in FreeBSD's areas of strength, but we'll see how it goes:
1. Videoconferencing on a varietyy of platforms works.
2. Wine can run World of Warcraft and Eve.
3. I can do video editing with shotcut and/or Kdenlive.Steam working isn't a strict requirement, but 'll give it a shot. My being able to do A/V stuff is a strict requirement.
This weekend I'll also see about upgrading my current workstation to Debian Trixie, but I'd be pretty happy replacing it with FreeBSD if it's viable.
I'd welcome hints. I'm not opposed to running Pipewire if that'll smooth things with the various A/V editing and production tools, and potentially with videochat.
I snagged a low-end AMD Radeon card for the purpose, but I could move to nVidia if needed.

@gloriouscow I have an O2. I set out to get an Indy, but got an O2. The O2 is cool, but everything I've used it for I could've done more cheaply and quietly and in less space with an Indy. Maybe get an Indy.

Finally installed the finale OS for my parents #framework12 laptops.
Went with #Fedora #workstation . I was originally planning to install #silverblue , but printing support in flatpaks is too flaky from my tests, and that's one thing they do often. So workstation it is 🤞
