@nwcs I had one CRT TV in the 1990s that was "good", it was a Magnavox HD2032 TV, it had a square and flat CRT, it was in stereo, and had the extra RCA inputs and outputs, the only bad things were the lack of S-Video, and that it still had a bit of the flicker, but I think it was the best CRT TV I had ever used, also it lasted a bit over 10 years, I wish I could get an LCD to last that long, but yea, I don't want a monitor or TV that weighs more than a spare tire #retro #nostalgia

Just watched ‘Avatar Aang: The Last Airbender’ with my kids, with whom I watched the Nickelodeon show 20 years ago. We all really enjoyed the new movie, and agreed we'd watch the hell out of a new series with the original characters at the age they are in this movie. It was such a sweet, brilliant show, and the new stuff keeps the spirit of it and looks great, though we missed the long form story telling the series allowed for. Some key characters didn't get enough time on screen. Still overall quite fun.

Tip: If you're avoiding Amazon and Paramount, you don't need Prime to get a free trial of Paramount+ on Amazon, and you can cancel immediately after viewing.

#9 The Unification Church Exposed – When former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe was assassinated in 2022, the killer Tetsuya Yamagami committed the act not because of politics but because of the perceived connections the politician had with the controversial Unification Church which he blames for financial ruining his family and his own life. The killer’s own mother was a member of the Unification Church and because she donated so much money to it, her own family ended up lacking money for survival, education and other needs. The murder investigation eventually unraveled decades of allegations about financial exploitation, shattered families and the immense influence the said church had on its members from Japan to South Korea and the United States.
