Brand new upcoming tracks, something from every album, the cassette era re-worked and tracks never before performed live, celebrating 35 years of the darker side of the disco.
I've been reflecting a lot over the past 6+ weeks building this show. Which makes sense given the theme and the reworking of quite old material. Working with my writing partner from the 90s on new album material to debut has been a vibe. It's no comfort that our artistic response to the world then was so fucking grim and macabre and that absolutely nothing has gotten better since. oof.
But there is something positive in the process of doing, building, and the fuel to keep fighting at least at the micro level. I'm not sure what the feeling is called but there have been a few moments at the mixing desk and on the practice stage where I felt a little ping of something that isn't just the usual pain or total dread. Odd. There is beauty in the darkness and all but fuck sake maybe an occasional ping of, I don't want to call it joy, but something like that is just fine. It's no joke when I invite you to lace up your boots and join me for a cathartic stomp. Let's shake up the neighbours and be positively angry TOGETHER!

Parce que ce n'est pas la première fois que j'ai la remarque : oui les styles que j'affectionne et sur lesquels je bosse ne sont pas tout le temps bien lisibles et sont parfois trop chargés.
C'est normal. Mes inspirations sont les styles de la Presse et de la Publicité des époques victoriennes et edwardiennes. Il s'agit de visuels qui expérimentent beaucoup dans la compo, dans les idées, dans les rendus, avec les impératifs des techniques de leur temps et le design moderne qui n'existait pas encore ou balbutiait.
Il y a des graphies dans tous les sens, pas toujours de hiérarchie de l'info, un humour souvent absurde, parfois noir ou pince sans rire, un style parfois lourdingue. J'essaye de rendre justice à tout ça. Plus ou moins bien.
Pour vous aider à comprendre et pour l'accessibilité générale, je mets des Alt sur mes images là où c'est possible.
Vous pouvez ne pas aimer, ça peut ne pas vous parler du tout, ça peut vous dérouter. C'est normal.
Par contre, évitez de m'inviter à changer de style, d'arrêter les typos variées, de tenter des choses plus simples, plus modernes ou je ne sais quoi. Là ce n'était pas le cas mais j'ai déjà eu des gens en mode "c'est sympa ce que tu fais mais pour que ce soit mieux faudrait que tu abandonnes ton style de merde pour faire du flat design moderne comme on voit partout sur google".
Dire "Hey change de style ça sera mieux" à un'e artiste, un'e artisan'ne, c'est d'une violence, vous avez pas idée.
