For my birthday tomorrow I'm thinking about starting to host a DTIYS challenge. They are definitely lacking on masto as far as I can tell and the instagram ones are RIDDLED with AI.

My big debate is frequency because obviously I want to paint the references myself too.

Weekly feels like a lot but also a fun challenge? Monthly is not often enough. The obvious solution would be biweekly but part of me wants to stretch myself. I *have* the time.

I'm so fucking annoyed at how many "draw this in your style" posts I see on Instagram using ai garbage as the reference.

Like they'll credit someone, so it looks more legit, right? But then I look up that person and it's some ai knob slobberer.

I love the idea of a "in your style" challenge but not ai. Never ai.

(anyone know of someone on fedi who hosts such a challenge?)
