Reflecting On Grace Cathedral
You pull back the thick wooden doors to enter the sanctuary and the building opens up into a large cavernous space with gothic columns and arches. At the time of our visit there was a young lady rehearsing her hymns for Sunday service. Without a microphone she filled the building with her beautiful voice.

A foggy sunrise at the Riviera Motel in Mackinaw City, Michigan. The blue pool and colorful chairs really stood out against all that gray. Usually, we would be able to see the Mackinac Bridge from here, but the fog obscured the view.
And those tiny black specks overhead? Non-biting midges — a very familiar sight in early June around Mackinaw City.

Goldstream Dredge No 8 HDR
I know that I don't recall the complete story of this monster of a gold dredge. The pieces of this dredge were manufactured on the east coast of the United States. From there the parts were shipped on railroad to San Francisco where it was assembled in the bay, disassembled, and shipped up to the Davidson Ditch where it was again, reassembled.

Mt Whitney From Highway 395
Living in California kind of spoils a person to all of the beauty that surrounds them. Hwy 395 down the backside of the Sierra Nevada Range is one of those drives that everyone should take at least once in their lives.
