  1. 📷 Great Kiskadee (Pitangus sulphuratus) that I photographed around Laguna de Monte (a lake), located about 100 km from the city of Buenos Aires, Argentina.

This species commonly inhabits and perches among reed beds and vegetation around bodies of water. For more details about the location, see: sitiosnaturales.com/post/298/l

  3. Arr, Matey

This is a laughing gull (Leucophaeus atricilla) at Gulfport, Mississippi. When I took this photo one fall, I noticed the bird was standing on one leg, which made me wonder if it only had one leg. Perhaps one was taken by a shark. Then I noticed many birds were standing on one leg; first thought was "sharks must like bird legs." ;-) But they just had one leg and foot tucked up against their bodies as a way of reducing heat loss through their feet. There are a couple of other reasons, but I'll leave it at that.

Step into a world where even the smallest moments—like the glint in a bird's eye—tell their own story.

  5. "The experiences I share with those who marvel at the birds with me, whether they are friends or family or just people I meet out in nature carrying binoculars, always leave me feeling connected and hopeful for the health of our natural environments," reflects Patricia Williamson. alamedapost.com/features/natur
