Tagging for an early #SolarPunkSunday -- Saturday, May 16th in #PortlandME ! I've participated in this before, and some folks are willing to do item swaps as well!
Spring 2026 Woodfords Corner Yard Sale Trail on May 16, 2026
9:00 am – 2:00pm (individual sale times may vary)
"The Yard Sale Trail is an initiative of #FWC’s Green, Clean, & #Sustainable Committee. The GCS team focuses on the beauty and sustainability of our neighborhood spaces, and engaging neighbors in sustainable activities. Mostly important, we want to bring the community together to do this work - and demonstrate that caring for our planet can be creative and fun. Over the years, we’ve held #sustainability workshops and fairs, hosted an annual #GardenTour, cleaned up the railroad tracks, and more!
Check out last Fall’s Yard Sale Trail Map. The new Spring 2026 Map will be available on Friday, May 15th."

#PastAndFutureCraft

Westbrook, ME 04092, USA"Let's channel the rebellious 60's and 70's by making a protest patch using groovy fabric scraps. Learn two different machine applique techniques. #PortlandME - #WarblerWalks at Evergreen Cemetery
Free, no registration required.
May 4-8 & May 11-15, 7-9 am
672 Stevens Ave, Portland, ME 04103"Join Maine Audubon’s Staff Naturalist Doug Hitchcox, for free bird walks at Evergreen Cemetery in Portland during the peak of warbler migration. These walks will take place each weekday (Monday through Friday) from the 4th through the 15th.
Meet at the south end of the duck ponds (map) and we’ll spend two hours (7-9 am) birding along the paths and trails of Evergreen. Come out for a morning of watching some of North America’s most beautiful birds as they stop to feed in this city-surrounded oasis, before moving on to their breeding grounds.
Most days we only walk ~0.4 miles and stay on the dirt road and trails. Conditions vary based on recent weather, but trails can be quite muddy after rain and some places can have exposed roots to step over. There is a public restroom (vault toilet; no running water) nearby. Accessible by Greater Portland Metro Bus 9A/B. We will have loaner binoculars available.
Maine Audubon strives to provide inclusive and accessible programs for all members of the community. If you require accommodations to participate in this program, please email [email protected]. Maine Audubon can best meet the needs of requests submitted at least seven days before the event start date."

Free Day at #MaineStateParks for #LibraryCard Holders on April 25, 2026
April 14, 2026
Augusta, Maine - "April 19-25, 2026 is #NationalLibraryWeek, and thanks to a proclamation by Governor #JanetMills, it is also officially #MaineLibraryMonth. To mark the occasion, the #MaineStateLibrary and Maine State Parks are partnering to offer a special day of free admission to participating state parks.
"On Saturday, April 25, simply show your Maine library card at the entrance of any participating Maine state park and enjoy a day outdoors at no cost.
" 'This collaboration is a perfect way to highlight the value of libraries and the exceptional outdoor values of Maine's State Parks,' said Andy Cutko, #MaineDACF Bureau of Parks and Lands Director. 'Libraries open your mind to the world of literature, and on April 25, your library card is also a ticket to the #outdoors.'
" 'Maine State Library is delighted to partner with Maine State Parks for Maine Library Month,' said Lori Stockman, Maine State Librarian. 'With spring upon us, providing free admission to many Maine State Parks on April 25th is a natural extension of the types of services and resources that our public libraries provide regularly to their communities.'
"Visitors are encouraged to bring a favorite book, find a shady spot, and enjoy some quiet reading time surrounded by Maines natural beauty. Whether it's a novel at #CrescentBeachStatePark, poetry under a pine at #LamoineStatePark, or a field guide on a trail atop #BradburyMountainStatePark, the day is a celebration of learning, relaxation, and connection.
"Don't have a library card yet? Stop by your local library to sign up - its free, and it opens the door to countless opportunities, from books and digital resources to programs and events.
Find your nearest library. To explore Maine State Parks, including maps and locations, visit parksandlands.com.
"Free admission applies to day-use at Maine's Maine State Parks and Historic Sites on Saturday, April 25, from 9:00 a.m. until closing.
"The free admission does not apply to:
Acadia National Park
Allagash Wilderness Waterway
Baxter State Park
Maine Wildlife Park
Peacock Beach
Scarborough Beach
Swan Island
