It went quite slow at first, but the last few days the #birds ate half of the food 😱.

It's #nice 🥰. So many little birds in the backyard. Mainly #housesparrows and #greattits (we're talking birds people...). They especially like being on the inside, where they can quickly hide in the tree. The house sparrows are very careful, not letting themselves be photographed easily. But the great tits are a bit more daring.

We do have healthy populations of raccoons, squirrels, and rabbits, but we don't usually see deer, although they are just across the way in the cemetery/golf course. We do see coyote and foxes, but I don't think they're that fond of grapes, despite what we learned from Aesop's fables.

But we also get the Minneapolis Mega-Murder stopping by fairly frequently, so I think that it is most likely crows.

Our grape vine has been stripped bare! I assume by a passing flock of birds as humans would be more likely to harvest by the bunch, not by the grape.

@D_J_Nathanson I feel your pain. A bunch of catbirds took up residence in my backyard and ate all of my blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries. It's strange, because last summer we didn't see any catbirds in our yard.

Rainbow Lorikeet. This guy and his friends made the usual ruckus this morning. There was also a disagreement with the Noisy Miners who had also flown in to feed on my native plants. In the end after a noisy squabble they all settled down to breakfast on separate plants...🤣
