🎒💔 This isn't a travel bag. It's my displacement bag.

Every night, I place it beside my bed before I close my eyes. Not because I'm planning a journey, but because I never know if I'll wake up to another evacuation order or another night of bombing.

Inside are a few clothes, our documents, and the last pieces of a life we've struggled to hold on to. Every member of my family has a bag like this. In Gaza, being ready to lose your home at any moment has become part of daily life.

We are exhausted. We cannot keep living with this constant fear, this endless anxiety, this feeling that every minute could be the moment we lose everything again. No human being should have to live this way.

This bag carries more than belongings. It carries our fear, our uncertainty, and the weight of surviving day after day.

For us, those words do not match reality. Perhaps some people choose to believe them to ease their conscience or to justify their silence. But here, death has never taken a break. Not during the day. Not at night. Not in the streets. Not inside tents. Not inside homes. Not even during funerals. Every day brings new massacres, new victims, and new grieving families. 🚨🥺

Tonight, I was on my way home from a private lesson. I was thinking about nothing more than getting back safely.

Then, in an instant, everything changed.

A deafening explosion shattered the night. The ground shook beneath my feet, and a nearby apartment disappeared into a massive cloud of dust and smoke. I froze. I couldn't move. My heart pounded so hard I thought it would burst. Then I started crying. 💔😭

There is no safe place.

Only fear.

Only the sound of people screaming.

Mothers calling for their children. Children crying in terror. Neighbors running toward the smoke, desperate to find someone they loved. The air itself felt heavy with panic. ❤️‍🩹

Minutes later, the ambulances arrived.

There was little left to save.

Six people had been killed.

Just minutes earlier, they had been sitting together around their dinner table, sharing an ordinary evening, never imagining it would be their last. Their home, the place where they should have been safest, became the place where their lives ended. 💔

This is what life in Gaza feels like.

You leave home without knowing whether you will return. You hear an explosion and wonder if the next name people cry out will be yours. Every ordinary moment can become your last.

But some scenes leave even words speechless. 🥀

A man seeking shelter in a fragile tent was killed when it was bombed. 💥⛺ His loved ones lifted his body onto their shoulders, carrying nothing but grief and prayers. 🤲😭 They only wanted to give him one final dignity that every human being deserves: a peaceful farewell and a proper burial. ⚰️🕊️

They were never given that chance.

Another missile struck his funeral. 💥💔

As if killing him once was not enough. As if death itself did not satisfy this cruelty. 😭 The mourners became victims too. Shrouds were torn apart, blood mixed with blood, and those who came to say goodbye were left needing someone to bury them instead. 🩸⚰️💔

💔 Just a moment earlier, the night felt ordinary.

I was walking down the street while people were finishing their last errands before heading home. Someone was buying medicine for his mother. Another carried something for his children. Someone else stood outside a small shop, wondering what he could afford to take home with the little money left in his pocket. No one said goodbye... because everyone believed they would be back in a few minutes. 🥺

🚨 Then...

In less than a second, the world disappeared.

A massive explosion ripped through the night. Stones rained down on us, and a thick cloud of dust swallowed everything. I couldn't see the road. I couldn't see the people around me. I couldn't even tell where I was standing. ❤️‍🩹

😭 Then came the sound that has never left me.

Screams.

The kind of screams that tear through your soul. Children crying for their mothers. Mothers running through the darkness, calling their children's names. Men weeping openly, too shattered to hide their tears. Cries for help came from every direction until the air itself seemed filled with fear. 💔

I was shaking uncontrollably. I fell to the ground, then struggled back to my feet, touching my face, my eyes, my hands, my legs—trying to make sure they were still there.

But my heart...

My heart was trembling even more than my body.

In less than a second, the world disappeared.

A massive explosion ripped through the night. Stones rained down on us, and a thick cloud of dust swallowed everything. I couldn't see the road. I couldn't see the people around me. I couldn't even tell where I was standing. ❤️‍🩹

😭 Then came the sound that has never left me.

Screams.

In one of Gaza's neighborhoods, a street vendor's cart lost its balance, and fruit spilled across the road. 🍎

I even heard some of them telling other hungry children, "Don't eat it... it doesn't belong to us." ❤️‍🩹

What kind of values can overcome hunger? 🌿

In Gaza, we go to bed hungry. We appeal to the world again and again for food and medicine. A single piece of fruit can feel like an impossible dream. Yet we do not take what is not ours. We were raised to believe that poverty is not shameful, and that no matter how severe hunger becomes, it never gives anyone the right to take another person's livelihood. 🤍

This is the Gaza that is rarely shown.

A place where people are besieged by hunger, yet refuse to let their conscience be besieged as well. They may lose food, medicine, and safety, but they refuse to lose their integrity. 🕊️

That day, the story was never really about the fruit scattered across the road.
