Alright people, it's time for one of the biggest #CrowUpdate of the year! I heard Mr and/or Ms Crow making quite some noise for the past hour or so in the park. Some familiar calls ("where are you! come here!") and some I heard before but I don't really understand. I suspected something and... I was right!!!!
Ladies and Gentlemen, let me introduce you to Junior 1 and Junior 2, 2026 edition!!!

@yon Good quality dried dog food is a good start. Not dyed, salted, sugared stuff. It's more balanced than cat food.
Unsalted, unsugared sunflower seeds,, or peanuts. In or out of the shell is a nice treat.
I also throw in a little rolled grain to add variety.
Fruit, including raison are a good treat. Again unsweetened.
Not bread.

Lol, apparently #corvids are geniuses for showing up again and again to a spot where they found some food.

Had a huge crow just now on my balcony for peanuts I had out. I don’t think it’s the first time, because I saw one waiting outside in the morning with the finches for me to put bird feed out.
I make a mix of hulled millet, unshelled roasted & unsalted sunflower seeds and peanuts.
I love crows, and they are so shockingly big up close.
I haven’t seen any blue jays this year which is surprising. I’ve heard a couple, but not like other years. I hope they will come back.

Running late cos roofers turned up and of course the landlord (isn't that a ridiculous and dated word? Landlord? Landed-parasite would be better) hadn't warned us they were coming
Still, gone now. Have a beautiful rook that passed by yesterday. A far more welcome visitor 😘

There are jackdaws aplenty in our backyard but very rarely do crows show up. Today I left out some cat food, dried worms and peanuts, which the jackdaws immediately descended upon. It seems the commotion caught the attention of a couple of doves and also this crow.

I've gotten a couple crow gifts over the years, but lemme tell you I was NOT prepared to find a bird's head in their water bowl today. It took my brain a minute to parse wth I was even looking at. I thought it was a piece of bark at first. 😅
I'm not sure it was truly a gift or if one of the crows was marinating it for carrion gourmand reasons. Probably the latter. EW.

#CrowUpdate Just two pictures of Mr Crow this week. Yesterday morning, he was waiting for me right in front of my house, that was almost dangerous as I only saw him when I drove my car outside to the street) but he's smart, he was in a safe spot despite being an almost blind spot for me. He seemed quite tired yesterday, I suspect that in addition to his wing issues, the two days of rain didn't help (and then it got really really windy).
