    On the 5th of October, the "Grandmother" cottonwood tree was cut down by CBP after a violent Oct raid and assault on the camp. On the 6th of October the tresit was back in place-in a heavily slanted tree growing from the Mexican side of the border.

    CORRECTION: This is a new tree supporting the treesit, NOT the fallen "grandmother" tree hoisted back up as a monopod. The original information was unclear. More at

  9. Early voting in Arizona starts Oct. 7. If you want your ballot by mail, request it by Oct. 23. The state site works in English and Spanish, and it's also where you check your registration and see where your mailed ballot is.

    The USPS mail ballot rule from this summer was blocked by the Supreme Court on Sept. 14, so vote by mail is on schedule. And if you see the meme saying to put a stamp on your ballot, you don't need one.
