I really like how this little cyanotype turned out!
This one of a kind cyanotype (5.5" x 7.5") is made with wildflowers (false-dandelion, buttercup and bedstraw) and some small fern leaves. Petals are sprinkled giving a sense of movement in the wind.

This is a unique hand made cyanotype on watercolour paper (11" x 14") with an image of various alliums and dandelions which have gone to seed. Each have seeds radiating from a stem like exploding fireworks. I have embellished this with two of my linocut of native moths species: a virgin tiger moth and white underwing.

My son and I both brought sketchbooks so we could spend some time drawing in the woods but I also prepared some paper for cyanotypes so we could gather a few leaves and flowers and things, make some cyanotypes in the sunshine and develop them my lakeside.

This is one of a kind cyanotype and combined with rosy-orange sun print on water colour paper 11" x 14" with an image of small lily pads. The blue of the cyanotype mimics the blue of lake water for a serene image like looking down on a pond from above. A circular area is only in tints of blue while outside the circle is both blue and rosy-orange.

Dandelion clocks with their fine fluffy white seed heads are a great subject for a cyanotype. I saw my neighbour was deadheading her alliums and the way the seed heads echoed the shape of the dandelions struck me.
So I found myself doing the perfectly normal thing - digging through my neighbour’s garden waste for art purposes, as you do.
I love their silhouettes in this cyanotype.

I made some cyanotypes with my son this week. We went for a walk to gather some botanical materials. I wanted to show him how you can paint the photo emulsion on paper in any shape so I made a little cat silhouette and then set it in the sun with some Virginia creeper leaves for a sweet little print.

Combining cyanotype and sun print: first made a fern print with copper inkodye which turned out a rosy orange colour and then I coated the print again, for a cyanotype of branches of the tree of heaven (once again pulling up invasive plants to make art)!
