The Couturier duo draws its inspiration from haute couture ateliers, handwritten studio notes pinned to a mood board, and the kind of refined editorial typography you’d expect in a magazine that still prints on heavy stock.
The package includes seven OTF files split across two families. The Couturier serif comes in five weights: Regular, Wide, Semibold, Bold, and Ink. The Couturier Script comes in two styles: Regular and Bold. That’s the entire download, no bonus swash files, no separate ornament set. Just seven working files built to do a specific job.
Why a Font Duo Built Around Tailoring Actually Matters Right Now
Here’s the thing about most “elegant” font duos on the market. They borrow the visual language of luxury without earning it. Thin serif, pretty script, done. High means you need to actively manage tracking, size ratio, and color contrast, or the whole thing collapses.

Semibold is the workhorse. It’s the weight I reached for most often across all five mockups because it holds detail at smaller sizes without losing the handwritten warmth. Bold pushes further into logo territory, and it’s where the “haute couture” reference really shows up in the letter construction. Ink is the heaviest option, and honestly, it’s my favorite for a single dramatic word on a packaging label. Use it sparingly. It’s not built for anything longer than a few words.
The Script Side: Where the Irregularity Comes From
The Couturier Script is the more expressive half of the duo, and it’s genuinely inky. Not the polished, uniform calligraphy you see in a hundred other wedding fonts. This one wobbles a little, the way a real signature does when someone writes quickly and confidently rather than carefully. That irregularity is the whole point, and it’s what separates this from a generic script.
Regular works well for accent phrases, monograms, and short editorial callouts. Bold carries more visual weight and reads better at larger sizes, though I’d avoid setting it below 24 points in print. Below that, the ink detailing starts to blur into itself.

options "grp:shifts_toggle,lv3:ralt_switch,lv5:caps_switch,nbsp:level3,misc:typo"
lv3:ralt_switch, misc:typo and nbsp:level3 give me a typographic keyboard. And lv5:caps_switch just gives me another button that I use as a keyboard app launcher (ISO_Level5_Shift+F → Firefox).
Sure, I can't make the tap, hold and double-tap do different things, but now I don't need #kanata (no offense).
