Got some work done on the #WIP Heincke painting today. Hard not to get distracted with #minecraft while I wait for the paint to dry :meowybara: It's coming along nicely. I am about 11 hours in now and have plenty to go. Once the sky and water are done I will start on the clouds, then hills and then the ship is last.
This is a #research vessel docked at #Bremerhaven and it is an honour to be painting it!

4th one for #septempera.There's a village near where I live where there's this tree that awkwardly hugs the last remnants of a stone wall.
I've been wanting to paint it for a while. And I took the chance to put in a tiny homage to a favorite of mine, Rien Poortvliet. -

So, as a lover of green, yes, of course, I was all in on this Bob Ross tutorial. I found the waterfall a little challenging because I don’t have a tiny fan brush. So now I want a tiny fan brush. Is it a great painting? I don’t care. I had so much fun painting this one. All of this leafy green put me totally in my happy place. Green sky? Sure, why not.

Here’s my fourth attempt at following a Bob Ross tutorial using gouache. This painting made me cold. Figuratively and literally. I had to wash my brushes so many times, and it’s cold in my house. So my hands were perpetually wet and cold. This painting also took several times as long at the previous ones, mostly because I kept having to wash my brushes after every little section. Dark, light, dark, light, dark, light. Plus that sky was hard.
I’m still trying to figure out a substitute for a palette knife that scales down to work on my little paintings. So I tried to scrape the mountains with a scrap of card stock. It wasn’t amazing. Then I tried Yupo paper, a plastic art paper, which was better than the card stock but still hard to manage. So I ended up doing a lot of brushwork on the snow despite my attempts to scrape it on instead. I hope Bob’s next scene is something warm and tropical.
