War criminal Netanyahu says #Israel will intensify strikes in southern #Lebanon - It id clear that Israel is intent on doing to Lebanon what it did to #Gaza. Its indiscriminate strikes have flattened entire villages and destroyed vital infrastructure. Presumably targeted strikes have targeted ambulances and killed dozens of paramedics. The IDF has systematically destroyed Maronite and Syriac Christian villages as well, with some #IDF soldiers defacing statues of Christ and the Virgin Mary. Make no mistake, these are MORE #IsraelWarCrimes. The country is #EthnicCleansing large swaths of the region - with visions of a #GreaterIsrael. It is absolute madness that the rest of the world, especially #Arab neighbors (signatories to the Abraham Accords), are allowing this to happen. What comes next? Just look at the settler violence on the #WestBank.

🇪🇬🚝🌆 Commercial service has begun on the East of #Nile #Monorail in Greater #Cairo, marking Africa’s first monorail system. Delivered by Alstom with Orascom Construction and #Arab Contractors, the 56-kilometre line has 22 stations, 16 now operational, linking East Cairo to the New Administrative Capital. The driverless Innovia system using CBTC GoA4 signalling has capacity of up to 45,000 passengers per hour per direction, easing congestion and improving connectivity across key districts. Journey times between El Moshir Tantawi and Justice City stations are reduced from around 1 hour 20 minutes by road to about 40 minutes. The project is also the first in Africa to feature platform screen doors. Vehicles were manufactured in Derby, #UK, with testing and commissioning led locally, with around 98% #Egyptian workforce involvement, supporting Egypt’s Vision 2030 and long-term #sustainable #urban #mobility goals.

"#Anglican #missionary Rev. #WBLewis describing the desperate situation of #Jews living in #Jerusalem under #Ottoman #Turkish rule in 1824.
#Lewis wrote his letter from #Aintoura, a village in present-day #Lebanon, on February 23, 1824. His account is one of the most detailed non-#Jewish eyewitness reports of what life was really like for Jews in the #HolyLand at that time.
He describes horrifying #extortion, #beatings, wrongful #imprisonment, #forcedlabor, and stolen property — all suffered by a community with no #European diplomatic protection in Jerusalem. The letter also covers the long Jewish struggle to reclaim the ruined #Hurva #Synagogue, which had been destroyed by #Arab creditors a century earlier.
This document is historically valuable precisely because Lewis was a non-Jewish outsider with nothing to gain by exaggerating. His testimony confirms what Jewish sources also describe about life under Ottoman rule in Jerusalem."

April 30, 2026In Nov.-Dec.2025, Jewish Currents reached out to some two dozen Palestinians from #Gaza and the #WestBank — all of whom the magazine had previously interviewed after October 7 — to ask them how their lives had changed since they last shared their stories.
The resulting testimonies are difficult to read. They show the effects of years of industrialized, live-broadcast massacres and colonization, particularly in Gaza, where more than 10% of the population is estimated to have been killed or injured in the last two years.
