In "Dragon Breed" (1989) you fly atop an invincible dragon.
There's only one fire button, meaning you and your dragon fire simultaneously, and there are power-ups for both.
Using the dragon's movement is an effective way to dispatch enemies, but focusing too much on that is how you get yourself killed in this game. You, though, are not invincible.
‣ Dragon Breed ran on the x86-based Irem M72/M81 boards. However, x86-based doesn't mean they worked anything like an IBM PC.
