Naja, manchmal kann man einfach auch Pech. Hab gerade heute diesen Satz SpaceQuest III für Amiga aus der Post geholt. Leider gab es massive Lesefehler, die ich nicht beseitigen konnte.

Glücklicherweise hatte ich schon Vergleichs-Daten, die ich zur Verifizierung herannehmen konnte. Bis auf die Lesefehler sind die Disketten exakt identisch. So kann man dann zumindest den 600dpi Scan mit einem intakten ADF Image zusammenbringen. 😎 😉

Okay, I finally uploaded that "Space Quest II" floppy disk for the Amiga to the Internet Archive. A classic adventure game from 1988. There's a savegame hiding within the KryoFlux streams and the CT RAW disk image, but I cleaned it up for the ADF image.

These Sierra-Online games on the Amiga usually require a Workbench to start. I've been using WB 1.3.3 successfully.

1. Lunar Soul – EP слушать
EP, включающий различные версии трека Lunar Soul: оригинальный микс, расширенную версию и альтернативную версию “Essential”, в которой использованы элементы ранней альбомной интерпретации композиции. Данный материал отражает переходный этап работы над более поздней альбомной версией, отличающейся по аранжировке и стилистике.

2. Under the Moon – Single слушать
Сингл, представляющий переработанную интерпретацию оригинального микса Lunar Soul. Концепция релиза заключается в отражении исходного материала в инверсной форме, что соответствует названию. Релиз был выпущен до публикации Lunar Soul, несмотря на более поздний этап создания. В дальнейшем композиция была переработана и включена в альбом Space Quest в изменённой форме аранжировки.

Оба релиза можно преобрести на Bandcamp

i totally understand how low-res 16 colour graphics might not be everyone's thing, but Mark Crowe deserves so much more credit for some of his early Space Quest animation and background art.

there is so much careful thought that went into this scene:
- the backlit shadows for the trees in the extreme foreground
- the crepuscular rays jetting into the scene from an offscreen light source
- at least five layers of objects overlapping one another to produce depth

AGI - sierra's interpreter - did not support any kind of alpha transparency. mark had to painstakingly create the illusion of lighting by alternating dark and light greens/blues/greys.

The 880K diskette is copy protected, but thanks to pristine KryoFlux streams and the CT RAW disk image format, the game does work flawlessly on the WinUAE emulator! I'm still loving this in 2026!

I just got this beautiful version of Space Quest 2 super-cheap for only a few bucks. KIXX XL released this in 1993/94 as a single 720K floppy disk without the oldschool copy protection of the original Sierra diskettes. Luckily, everything was still perfectly readable and in pristine condition! :computerfairies:

I just got this beautiful version of Space Quest 2 super-cheap for only a few bucks.
