As an author, Ethereal by P.A.V. was the last I noticed playing. The last I listened to was Feel it Still, a live recording by Portugal. The latter is a time travel song. I had it on repeat.
The devil-girl, who shows up in a number of stories, doesn't listen to songs since what inevitably plays in a restaurant or a public space is one her mother recorded. Her mother was their equivalent of a Broadway star, and she died when the devil-girl was five; she doesn't want to be reminded. She's been known to leave a place precipitously (not to be seen crying, something she definitely never does.) In one story, a friend who doesn’t know who she is points out she sings "Broadway" in the shower. She does have her mother's voice.
