I fell in love with these huge (A3-size) books in Prague. I’ve seen the cover design described as pretentious (like me) but the full-page engravings are really fabulous.
The book only just fits on the scanner i use, with a few mm (eighth of an inch) to spare.

Ein Rahmen (Frame) als stilistisches Mittel für ein Coverdesign sollte bestimmten Anforderungen entsprechen: er sollte flexibel sein. Ich kann diesen Frame auf jedes erforderliche oder gewünschte Format anpassen, ohne ihn zu skalieren. Das funzt mit Vektorgrafiken ganz gut. Den im Motiv gezeigten Frame habe ich so beispielsweise an diese beiden Formate ( 5x8" & Audio) angepasst.

Mistigram: one of the first screens Cthulu started when the idea of doing a books-themed artpack came up (and also, after quite some turbulance, the very last one he finished), this adaptation of the typographical cover design to the 1999 Mariner Press edition of #JoseSaramago’s #Blindness was included in last month’s new literary MIST0426 artpack collection. (The artist thanks Yvonne for lending her copy so many years ago!)

Bookish crochet
One of my favourite crochet things to do is a granny square, I thing they are really versatile. They are quick to make, and then you can joined them together in what form you want. One can make a cover for a mobile phone, using a thicker yarn we can make a cover for a tablet, or a paper book cover.
But sometimes, at the end of the day, one is a little bit tired to follow a more complex pattern, so recently I try a more simple approach: making a chain with the wanted size, and then making double crochets on the back loop of the previous row, which gives it some texture.
I’ve tried fingerless gloves, a sleeve for an ereader, and a sleeve for books or notebooks to which I added a pocket. And it’s really simple: you just need to know how to make a chain, a double crochet, and a simple crochet (to join it).

Yes, I have. The design is supposed to be reminiscent of 80s #HardRock and #Metal album covers in terms of the font. The silhouette of the guitar is intended to emphasize that music is a significant part of the novel's plot. In addition, the lightning bolt on the cover plays an important role in the story and in the name of the novel.
