  1. #EroticMusings 63: Do you create cultures, ethnicities, or even sentient species for your work? How do you go about it?

I do, and it's just a part of the natural world-building process for me. I come from the background of playing #TTRPG stuff and a lot of #DnD, but with my own homebrews, so this comes naturally for me. I'm a game master, which means I run the campaigns and stories that my players enjoy. The process itself might look a little bit different for various stories, but the end result is always the same. They're my creations.

  2. Revision thing nobody warns you about: the scene you're proudest of is usually the one holding the chapter hostage. It's doing beautiful work for itself and nothing for the story. Cut one this week. I feel like I cut my own arm. #AmWriting #WritingCommunity #AmEditing

  3. Just had one hell of an idea for Book 2 of the Bloodbound Legacy Series. I knew it was going to be about Caden (who's a vampire), but I wasn't sure exactly what his story would be or where it would go. Imagine that he becomes enamored with a local Wraith, Phantom, or Spectre (I haven't decided yet on the lore or the creature's species name, but he'll be a more corporeal and tangible spirit). Since Caden was a character that was vaguely based on Crowley from Good Omens, just for a friend of mine, I could make said creature a good/light-hearted, fun, loving, caring one (a bit like Aziraphale). Maybe he even loves books and occupies a library in Moray, Scotland. Haunting a bit, making friends, etc. They could fall in love. Why not do a full dedication of sorts for a friend? We would be the only people who knew where the inspiration actually came from lol.

Let me know what you guys think... Yay? Nay? I really like it, to be honest. 🤔

  4. I have discovered the holy grail! !!The title for my memoir!

    "Twisting Lies into Truth"

The copy after the colon is worming its way into the creative channels of my brain. Something like:

"Twisting Lies into Truth: Claiming My Family’s Hateful Role in Our History"

    Open to tweakings

What's a trope you enjoy writing, even if it's unpopular?

One of my favorites are The Hidden World, Enemies to lovers, and Second Chances tropes. They always make me happy. #writingcommunity #indieauthor

  9. #WritersCoffeeClub 8/21: What’s a mistake you see a lot of writers make when writing about people with your lived experience?

This one bothers me a lot. I see a lot of books (and shows and films) where people with MS are always wheelchair-bound. Not all of us are, thank you very much. Everyone with MS is so different. And of course, there's absolutely nothing wrong with being a wheelchair user. In fact, there's nothing wrong with any of it. But please, consider all of us with MS, the entire spectrum of patients.

Edit: I have to add that @dickrubin716's writing is exactly what I want to see more of in the world. Just thought I'd throw that out there. :11111:
