7 Tage Trekking durch Norwegens ältesten Nationalpark liegen hinter mir.

Dieser Schnappschuss stammt vom Übergang von der Rondvassbu zur Doralseter-Hütte und gewährt Einblick in ein kurzes Wetterfenster, in dem sich die Sonne durch einen sonst sehr regnerischen Tag durchsetzen konnte und für eine atemberaubende Atmosphäre sorgte.

Kurz, bevor ich die wunderschöne Macun-Seenplatte im Schweizer Nationalpark vergangenen Montag verließ, rückten die südlichen Silvretta-Berge und das Verstanclahorn (3298m) immer wieder in das Blickfeld - hier am Lai dal Dragun.

Der Blick auf die Seenplatte Macun im Schweizer Nationalpark muss zwar hart erkämpft werden (1500 Höhenmeter), lohnt sich aber ohne wenn und aber.

Das Foto entstand heute Mittag, als ich nach rund 4h Aufstieg ab Zernez über das Plateau hinwegsehen durfte.
Macht man daraus die klassische Durchschreitung nach Lavin, darf man die Seen auch noch hautnah unter die Lupe nehmen. Dann kommen zu den Höhenmeter auch noch stramme 21km dazu.

Die mit Abstand schönste (und anstrengendste) Tour des langen Wochenendes im wundervollen Engadin und damit ein würdiger Schnappschuss für den #mountainmonday .

Ich durchquerte die wunderschöne Greina-Hochebene in der Ostschweiz - mit noch urigen Berghütten, süßen Bergbewohnern und Glück mit dem Wetter.

Ein würdiger Start in die Sommer-Saison, der Lust auf mehr macht!

Tipp: diese Tour ist aufgrund der Fahrt durch das obere Rheintal als Öffi-Tour zu empfehlen, die Blicke auf den Vorderhein sowie das gesamte Tal sind einfach umwerfend!

Many of us living in #Colorado north of Denver live in the shadow of Longs Peak and forget the other anchor of the Front Range: #PikesPeak is *massive*. It looms. It’s majestic. Even from the north west (not its most dramatic face), it’s enormous.

Today I take you to Heinrich-Schwaiger-Haus for #mountainmonday - a hut where you can sit and look eye to eye to the bearded vultures flying by.
Only downside: you have 800m of elevation in switchbacks, straight up the the mountain from the bottom of the damn forming the lake you see below.

Returned last night from Wyoming-- had a blast! Visited three locations. Highlight was our second day of horseback riding in the Wind River Range. Rode to a high elevation meadow, then continued on foot down a steep trail (not suitable for horses) to a lake surrounded by rocky cliffs. More pics to come!

As agricultural areas are limited in mountain regions, they need to be used efficiently and therefore #grasslands often are embedded in #forests with no buffer zones (field margins).
--> well separated #SoilFauna communities, but the missing ecotones impede their exchange.
