had a spectacular day over 3000 meters, going up Mono Pass (not the Yosemite one) and down to some lakes in the basin on the other side for lunch and then back over to Mosquito Flat, a surprisingly-leisurely 20 km day. (1/2) #MountainMonday

Good day!
I went out for a short hike, maybe a few miles. I returned after 7.4 miles (11.9k) and 1,591 feet (485m).
That, plus a good night’s sleep last night, and editing now, is how I battle depression since I can’t take medication.

This is from a summit that I did mid may. I was about to leave the summit when I turned around and saw those flowers - and I thought they could make a good photo.Well what you can't see there is that the majority of the summit is just rocks and just some little patches of earth and grass - but this bit of earth was enough for those little guys to grow. -- Good attitude .. sometimes it doesn't need a lot to grow

This was my first trip to Mt Rainier National Park. What a mountain!
Imagine you've spent the day toiling up hills, regretting every choice that led here. You're more tired and sore than you've ever been. When you finally reach the pass and come out in the open the mountain is towering over you. Glaciers pour melt water down thousand foot cliffs. Alpine meadows in red and gold. The beauty and solitude is enough your heart aches.

An old one (2023) for #MountainMonday
We spent the night in Rifugio XII Apostoli (2489 m) and were treated to a *perfect* inversion the next morning. This was taken from the small chapel, Cappella della Madonna Ausiliatrice. The peak poking out from the clouds is Doss del Sabion (2100 m), and the highest peak on the horizon (above and a bit left of Doss del Sabion) is Cima Presanella (3557 m).
