  1. All of a sudden, something shakes loose, and the characters start moving. They're talking to me again.

    This time, it was a tiny toot that made all the difference.
    Instead of going in with a foghorn, try a tooter.

    Sometimes, the scene needs the opposite of what I am trying to give it. That's when the characters freeze and just stare at me. Waiting. Refusing to participate until I resolve the problem.

    Now I'm running to keep up with them.
