I'm tempted to say, programming is my most valuable skill, which I learned partially by myself on the internet and partially through my apprenticeship. Though, it isn't valued anymore today. Well, don't they say, the rarer, the more a thing can cost?"

Sara:

The most valuable things in salvage are knowledge, not skills. Knowing where to go and what not to do are most important.

Charlotte's uncle taught both of us martial arts. They have an obvious self defense use, of course. Balance, focus, and general fitness are important to me. It made it much easier to teach myself how to use a sword, too.

About an hour. I generally don't even try unless I'm sure I'll have at least 30 minutes.

I'm not counting time staring blankly at a document on my screen at 11:30 at night because I should have gone to bed an hour earlier.

I'm almost completely a pantser. To start I need some characters, some inciting incident, and then I see where it takes me. Often setting on the fly.

For Epsilon, the direction changes based on votes, the ending could be anything.

For time travel, the direction changes based on characters, so more of a sense for the plot ending. But not what it looks like (because I don't know how/if we'll get there).

Her people's song, the melodical hum of the planet, their absence rang in her mind as a loud dolorous bell consuming the joys of life she had known. She couldn't focus, all she could do was cry, rage, and lash out at him in blind fury that sent them rolling around the ritual chamber. She would see his insides clawed open, leaving them spilled upon the floor disdained and disrespected, unworthy of even being eaten for nourishment. She would do it with bare fingers as there was nothing of her but unbridled rage. He had destroyed everything. Every living thing, their entire universe, destroyed, all in pursuit of godhood. She had only survived by the chance of being the first to reach the chamber door when all was destroyed and his tower pulled into the nothingness. Largely a super-volcano sort of event (though set off, it is generally acknowledged, by magic), Not quite at the killer-asteroid level of calamities but it caused worldwide quakes and tsunamis, and resulted in the toppling (or weakening) of nations and empires.
