Going through the chapters and writing minimal notes on last year’s drafted mystery, I’m pleasantly reminded of one of the best ideas I’ve ever had.

I still believe in the story.

I’m 40% of the way through already, and there are outstanding chapters, but because of needed changes to the plot, some will be gutted or discarded altogether, especially in the second half.

Not only did I scrimp on prep (it shows), but I had Covid while drafting.

The short version? So far, it isn’t as bad as I feared, and some of it is outstanding.

For now, this is a side project, but it is encouraging, and is posing many new ideas.
