#WordWeavers 8/27 Which character would win a trivia contest?
Dylan/Shadow
I think she's the only one of my characters truly connected to the internet, and unlike Lucky, she actually cares for more than programming and hacking.

#WordWeavers 8/21: What's a trope you enjoy writing, even if it's unpopular?
Strong, independent women in Romance.
That's what my Wolves are.
I realize that most F/M readers want women to follow more "traditional" stereotypes, where the women need to be rescued and saved and pampered.
Not me. My women rescue the men, as well. They know their mind. They gain strength.
They choose their relationships and their men.

#ScribesAndMakers 8/21. Link to or summarize yesterday's poll and reveal the answer.
Well, you got it right.
Steven Mason isn't in Wolves 10 - although he is a minor side-character in the series, being the brother of Sylvia from Wolves 1.
Fun fact: He learned about Wolves and yearns to be one. Which might give me the chance to turn him into an MC eventually.
I love writing the Wolves.
-
#WordWeavers 8/20: "If your story had a tagline, what would it be?"
Still working on that, but it could be:
Love might not be where you're looking for it.
I hope I can get this Wolf book nicely together. So far, my MCs are not particularly impressed with each other... hehehe.

#PhantastikPrompts 20.8.: "Was würdest du deiner Hauptfigur zum Geburtstag schenken?"

Where has your MC lived the longest? What kept them there for so long?Timothy has lived in East Compton for his entire life. As the son of the Alpha, there was no real choice to move away.
Ellie has moved a few times, and she's now glad to be part of Connor's pack, based in Wilmington. (She's refusing to tell me where she grew up, but it's somewhere in the South.)

#ScribesAndMakers 8/20 Create a poll describing two characters that feature in your stories and one who doesn't. Ask people to guess the one that isn't in your work.
All right, who is in my current Wolf book and who isn't?

#WritersCoffeeClub 8/19. How do you write characters with expertise outside your own?
I research and ask friends.
Case in point: Ellie is an Electrician.
I have never in my life wired a distribution board or set up a junction box. I just love it when my lights work.
So I research things and ask a friend who works in construction and beg him to proofread those scenes where Ellie displays her expertise.
All you can do.

Gute Nacht, Freunde.
Wrote 2k words for Wolves 10.
Ellie got into a fight and isn't exactly impressed with Timothy, either. At least he's easy to work with.
Both Pete and Santos are having trouble with the pack, too.
Conflict at the beginning. It needs to happen.

#PennedPossibilities 1098 What is a relatively recent invention that dramatically changed the world in your WIP?
For my Wolves, that would be the cell phone which is just starting to become a part of life for them.
It's changing their world just as it changed ours, since they basically live in our world.
It's fun because I had to go remember life before cell phones when I started writing them. That's why Alice is actually using a road atlas in A Wolf's Fight.

#WordWeavers 11/8: Which shelved project are you itching to get back to?
Wolves 10, the story of Timothy and Ellie. Can't wait to tell their adventure - and I have delicious plans for them!
Timothy is the son of the Alpha of the Compton pack, and he is in a bad situation now that [spoiler].
Ellie has been called in to help the Compton pack, but they can't really understand a woman electrician.
Fun times!

#WordWeavers 8/9 What's the smallest detail you've researched for a story?
I don't research a lot because most of my stories happen in invented worlds. However, since the Wolves take place in our world, there are things I research for them.
Don't really know about smallest, but I needed to find out where a wolf could hide on a freight train. That was fun.
(Yes, there are spots.)

#WordWeavers 8/4. Which supporting character keeps trying to steal the spotlight?
It happens all the time in my Wolf series.
The first to do this was Connor. He kept subtly helping Nick in Wolves 3, and when I was done writing A Wolf's Honor, he sort of sidled into my head and asked to have his story told.
So he wasn't trying to steal the limelight as such, but definitely volunteered for the next hero position. And now there are more of them. So many more.

"I absolutely love this hot, steamy, captivating book with exceptional characters in an erotic world that is so realistic it felt like I was on the journey with them."

#PennedPossibilities 1067 — Which of your characters do you connect with the most, and why?
Usually the one I'm currently writing.
For now, that's Moon. She has a bone to pick with a certain captain, and that's so much fun!
I hope that soon I can pivot to Ellie and Timothy and rework the beginning I have of that Wolf novel.

#WritersCoffeeClub 6/26 Have you ever included subtle (or unsubtle!) homage?
Yes!
In A Wolf's Hacker, Dylan rents a trailer in Murfreesboro near Nashville.
That's a hat-tip to AJ Sherwood's series Jon's Mysteries which takes place in Nashville (and some chars live in Murfreesboro). It's Urban Fantasy and gay romance, but those are definitely comfort books of mine.
No, it's not obvious, but it was fun to do.

(Gesellschaftliche schon.)

#WordWeavers 5/13
What role does non-romantic love play in your story? My wolf packs are basically families, and that kind of love is what holds them together. This goes beyond the romantic love that is a part of each story - this kind of love forms the backbone of wolf society.
In fact, the first three books in the series revolve around the different adventures of three siblings who deeply care about each other.

Do any of your characters wear glasses?Yes, Nick Karagianidis in A Wolf's Honor wears sunglasses.
I don't often do signature moves, but him pushing his sunglasses up into his unruly black hair is definitely one.
Nick also rides a motorcycle (the large, traveling type), and is both cool and honorable.

*hach*)

Gute Nacht, Freunde.
Very little writing (but I know what Moon will face next). My focus went to finally setting up a Ben & Sylvia bonus story as a "subscriber lure".
And now, this lure is dangling in the water, waiting for little fan fishies to bite.
If you enjoyed A Wolf's Quest (free in all stores!), here's the link for the bonus story. You'll have to enter your email - but you can always unsubscribe.
-
Okay, Mastodon, you did it.
I will write a Wolf book with a Red Riding Hood inspired plot.
It involves a young woman, a young man (who you'll get to know in the Wolf bonus stories) and, yes, a grandmother who is secretly a Wolf.
It might become Wolves 11. (Hold your horses, I first have to write and finish Wolves 10.)
Want to get to know my Wolves, where alphas are villains and sex happens behind closed doors?

#PennedPossibilities 996 — Share some of your favorite lines from your WIP.
“Hi Ben, I’m Steven.” The young man held out his hand, as his parents turned to head into the house. “The annoying little brother.” His grin told me he was wearing that title with pride.
"Meeting the Parents", the bonus story for Ben & Sylvia from "A Wolf's Quest".
Having much fun with them. I hope I can link you to that story tomorrow. (It's a reader magnet.)

#PhantastikPrompts 4/23.

Gute Nacht, Freunde.
Finished the second bonus story for the Wolves. It now also has a nice title: "Wolf to the Rescue".
Cover for Bonus Story #1 is almost done, I had to ask the designer for a correction, but I assume it'll be done tomorrow.
And then I have to set up a new onboarding sequence for my new Wolf fans.
Once I get the third story written, I'll reformat the Boxed Set with Wolves 1-3 to include them and republish it. Soon, I hope.

#WordWeavers Day 23: What would your MC be willing to die for?
Practically all my MCs are willing to die for their loved ones. Not that I push all of them that far.
The ones who got close?
Nick, certainly. Olivier, as well. Shane? Yes. And Heather, too.
My Wolves don't lead dangerous lives, but they do have dangerous enemies.

#ScribesAndMakers 4/23 Have fairy tales influenced any of your creative work?
They were among the first stories I heard or read myself (parents were not great on reading to us).
I don't think they influenced my writing much, however. I don't particularly like fairy tale retellings and I certainly don't write them.
(Or should I do Red Riding Hood in one of the Wolf stories? Just to bring in readers? Dear Gods, the idea...)
-
#WordWeavers 4/22: What would your antagonist be willing to die for?
There is no antagonist in the bonus story I'm writing right now, but Theo wants all Wolves dead.
After all, they are monsters and responsible for everything bad in this world, such as equal rights and women wanting to work and all that feminist nonsense.
And in a way, he does get to die for this. Ahem. (Tiny spoiler: It happens in Book 3.)
