Had a bit of a revelation today in regard to my 3D render art.

There are some artists who produce fantastic portrait work using DazStudio and I've talked to them about what processing they do to produce such amazing images.

But somehow I just can't do it. no matter how hard I try.

And yet I can produce some extremely good images, so the revelation was:

I may not good at what they do, but I'm good at what *I* do.

And that's totally fine.

Work-in-progress - a scene from a book. (In case you're wondering, she's supposed to have rounded back/shoulders like that, she's suffers from kyphosis).

Things to be done include throwing it into Blender to make the nightie lie better; adding an eye-light; adjusting her pose a bit more; and adding to the garden props.

#WordWeavers Day 11/14. Secondary character picture.

This wasn't ready this morning but here we go. This is Eftena on the beach.

The background is an HDRI (special kind of 360 degree photograph) while the figure is rendered from a model using the light from the HDRI. As a result the model reflects the natural light which helps to blend the two.

I got access to Lyoness's new Druid's Charms Daz3D assets a few days early to experiment with, and I did things between the intended (a druid casting spells), the reasonable (changing shader parameters to make swimwear), and the outright stupid (half-remodelling it and putting it on a centaur).

Failure. It's what drives her.
