To elaborate more on the corporate writing thing - I was a little too glib in saying that it's the same for writers. Unlike engineers, our work doesn't "break" noticeably. (Though I'd say a lawsuit is a pretty good wake up call lol)
When content "breaks", it's just a slow erosion of brand trust and messaging. It would probably take longer for some corporations to understand the value of content strategists, content designers, tech writers etc.
Despite AI infiltrating every aspect of the writing profession in the corporate field, there's really no replacing editorial judgement and writing flair, which is hard to define.
My concern remains the same: If no junior writers are hired, who can be these specialist writers?
I began my writing career doing the most mundane, achingly boring things. I sharpened my editing skills because at the newspaper, senior editors didn't want to edit submissions from the public, some of them from children. (Let's just say I learned A LOT from editing these submissions.)
Then I wrote "updates" from endless amounts of badly written press releases.
I interviewed people the more flashy journos didn't want to interview.
All these added to my experience.
How do we ensure working writers get the training I did?

The most difficult thing about writing in Chinese is that I have "patches" in my vocab so it's difficult to string entire sentences, especially on difficult subjects like politics. Yet, it's a mystery that I comprehend much more than I can speak/write.
It's like the two brain spheres are not connected. (prob sound neurological reasons for this)
So the only way to bridge this gap is to speak and write more.

Also I asked my cousins why they never mentioned great grandpa, but always spoke about "a coh" which is the matriarch of the family. They look puzzled, as if the thought has never occured to them that they should ever mention him lol.
Peranakan families are matriachical, which meant the women rule the house, the men are just there to bring back the money 😆.
Historically, men from China married local women and sailed back to China for business, leaving them to manage the household for long periods, so I suppose that's why it evolved that way.

I've taken to a sofa that I like leaning against when I sit on the floor.
Thinking now that just upholstering some of the walls would work out better. Though some visitors .... so maybe a narrow sofa for them?

2/21. Reactive Machine AI "stems from statistical math and can analyze vast amounts of data to produce a seemingly intelligent output."
2. Limited Memory AI - "can recall past events and outcomes and monitor specific objects or situations over time.
Subtypes of this include:
A. Generative AI: ChatGPT etc
B. Virtual assistants and chatbots: Siri, Alexa etc
C. Autonomous vehiclesFar too often all this gets confused with genAI.

CW: spoilers: The Dark Is Rising
"fight battles to get more strength levels"
I'm very over this approach - so many hours playing Diablo computer game?
Strangely the earliest example I've found is a British mytho-fantasy book series called The Dark Is Rising by Susan Cooper that first appeared in 1965.
Otherwise excellent, the repeated, inevitable victory by the books' main characters becomes increasingly irksome.

Thanks for responding. I’m not familiar with the tech side of things but I do notice if it’s really bad. The drama is character driven & while it’s not #myjourneytoyou or #fangsoffortune in terms of atmospherics I thought they did a good job. They gave us the character Princess Wanning though, a true study in psychopathy.
Still if we all liked the same things how could there be discussions? #cdrama

@liztai #Hevy is the best I’ve found. It’s the spiritual successor to #Strong and has active development by people who actually use the app. Highly recommend. https://www.hevyapp.com/

@liztai I have problems remembering the lyrics of my own songs... I cannot even imagine remembering the details or a novel. 😆
For my wiki needs I use #PmWiki
It is written in PHP and it is #OpenSource

The direction Elon is taking Twiiter in is one in which lives in the global south will matter even less to governments of the world's most powerful countries.Extrapolating from 45's record:
Despots will be supported,
expansion of empire will be supported,
gross human rights violations will be ignored,
climate change will be ignored,
foreign aid will be ignored,
racism will be ...Sure, global north is ignorant and tone deaf, but Elon and Rupert Murdoch must be stopped.
