As autumn deepens and daylight slips away, our instincts lean toward warmth, softness, and comfort.
Unstuck and Fearless
Two robots meet at the crossroads. They both hesitate to cross until the other has passed, and appear to be sniffing each other like poodles.
Their lights blink and their red flags wave, very much like a dog’s tail. First shyly, politely, then more enthusiastically. Through communication undetectable to humans, they decide which goes first. Unstuck from the surprise encounter, they each go their own way, wheels splashing puddled rain water, the puddles reflecting red lights and yellow trees, and someone gets their warm meal delivered.
In a forest, a little birdhouse catches my eye. Upon further inspection, it appears to be the playground of a frolicsome squirrel. The squirrel comes closer to inspect me. And closer, and closer, until I jump back!
I can’t believe next month will be November again.
