  1. and West Virginia are dueling to see who can sell out more for paranormal fan conventions. Let's throw everyone playing pretend scientist on fringe topics into one big convention. And such people called ME a "shill".

I loved going to and playing shows at the old Peabody's in Cleveland. When it was “down under" in the flats.

When it moved, it wasn't the same anymore.

I think the new one is gone now, too..

What's an Ohio venue that should never have closed?

  4. I don’t care how much money Google “pledges” to the community or how many jobs it creates, or that a PGA golf course uses more water than entire AWS availability zones, I want raw numbers.

All of these projects outside the handful of insane Gigawatt scale AI data centers (and pre-existing data centers too), do not publish any raw numbers really. Can anyone find out if the upcoming Ohio ballot initiative to ban data centers over 25 MW in size will actually do anything?

  5. “I’ve memorized Lerner and Golden / I feel like I’m almost a #Jew!” sang the late #protest #singer #PhilOchs. This might fall suspect on your ears, as he calls out noted #Jewish journalists of his era from a goyish philosemitic point of view.

What is not often discussed? #Ochs himself was Jewish, and this line was a bit of #political #satire. Perhaps you’ve never heard of him until now, but allow me to introduce you to this Jewish #protestsinger that more people should know about, especially in our current political climate.

His middle-class Jewish family moved around during his youth from #Texas to #NewYork and finally #Ohio. The young Ochs would turn out to be a clarinet prodigy who joined a university orchestra at age 15. Certainly talented enough to make your #bubbe’s upwardly-mobile #shtetl #neshume #kvell. But then his life would unwind, some say into madness, others would say into genius."
