I've moved to mas.to after many years on toot.community (a lovely instance which is sadly closing due to moderator workload 😢 ).
I love sci-fi - Godzilla and Alien in particular, dressing up/costuming/cosplay and live music.
Day job is computers (Linux and Kubernetes mainly), I live in Hampshire, UK. I'm asexual, he/him, in my 40s.

This by the way is a great listen. I did get to listen to it today while driving around. It’s really well done. It’s especially pertinent for space GMs and traveller GMs. Since company planets are so common. It will help give explicit terminology and form to what you know intuitively from consuming the media.

I'm sick, so I'm binging "Alien: Earth" and I think this is the sequel that really manages to bridge the gap between the more philosophical sci-fi and the creature horror sci-fi where "Prometheus" and everything after couldn't. It really manages to get the two halves to fit together better than most of those other attempts. This would be great, if there weren't so many plot holes and asinine decisions made by the characters for no reason. This also only happens in the monster sequences and it's so annoying. Why does equipmemt malfunction all the time? It just feels lazy. There could've been a ton of other reasons for shit to go wrong.
