#Solarpunk: A Story of Sand and Energy: Imagining #Namibia’s Bright Future

"Step into a vision of Namibia’s future powered by creativity and clean energy. Solarpunk: A Story of Sand and Energy opened at the Franco Namibian Cultural Centre in Windhoek, blending art, science fiction, and sustainability. Created by Namibian artist #VitjituaNdjiharine and Spanish artist #RocíoAsensi, the exhibition invites visitors to imagine hopeful, #regenerative futures rooted in #NamibianCulture.

"The Franco Namibian Cultural Centre (FNCC) came alive on 30 October 2025 as art lovers, sustainability advocates and curious visitors gathered for the opening of Solarpunk: A Story of Sand and Energy, an interactive exhibition inviting audiences to imagine Namibia’s future powered by creativity and #RenewableEnergy.

"The exhibition marks the first public presentation of works by Namibian artist Vitjitua Ndjiharine and Spanish artist Rocío Asensi, created during their joint residency in Swakopmund in August 2025. Their collaboration blends science fiction, #EnvironmentalAwareness and cultural storytelling, a visual dialogue between sand, sun and imagination.

"Under the leadership of the Goethe-Institut Namibia, and in cooperation with #TheProjectRoom, the Solarpunk project was selected from 47 international applications as part of the EUNIC Cluster Fund 2024/2025. The initiative forms part of the EUNIC Namibia Cluster, a partnership between the Goethe-Institut Namibia, Franco Namibian Cultural Centre, Club Italiano Namibia, Embassy of Spain, Embassy of Finland, Camões Namíbia and the European Union in Namibia.

"At its core, Solarpunk embodies a #RadicalOptimism, envisioning communities built on #sustainability, #inclusion, and #SharedResponsibility. Visitors explored installations that merge #NaturalMaterials with #FuturisticDesign, inviting reflection on Namibia’s abundant solar and wind energy potential, and the role of local identity in shaping a sustainable tomorrow. The exhibition’s participatory elements encouraged dialogue and imagination, a space where art becomes a tool for envisioning change

"This past summer, I watched most of Studio Ghibli’s films. The studio or it’s main creative force, #HayaoMiyazaki, are often mentioned as major influences on the solarpunk genre. It’s not a coincidence that one of their composers did the music for the solarpunk-inspired yogurt ad. Despite how connected Studio Ghibli seems to be to solarpunk, I found that only two of their 20+ movies have substantial solarpunk imagery or worldbuilding. Even so, it’s clear that these films were highly influential even if they’re weren’t solarpunk films. The influence comes from Studio Ghibli’s constant themes of environmentalism, humanism, community, anti-authoritarianism, and pacifism."

Ich hab "Das wandelnde Schloss" von #Ghibli Studios extra auf DVD bestellt und gestern geschaut, weil ich mir aufgrund dieses Beitrags von @ews und #arte Inspiration erhofft hatte. Bin ehrlich gesagt glatt enttäuscht. Der Film ist nicht schlecht, aber mit #Solarpunk hat er mE gar nix zu tun.
Die Energiequelle des wandelnden Schlosses ist ein Holzofen. Genau genommen ein Dämon in Form einer Flamme, die um das Herz eines Messie-Zauberers herum lodert und ständig mit Holzscheiten, Eierschalen, Speck und Haaren gefüttert wird. Die Protagonistin bemerkt #DasWandelndeSchloss auch zuerst am Brandgestank, bevor sie es hört oder sieht.
Das restliche Leben läuft ganz normal ab, abgesehen von Zauberei und Krieg. Mit den Einnahmen der Auftragszauberei kauft die Protagonistin auf dem Markt ein. Anbau wird nie thematisiert.
Das Thema Kinderarbeit lasse ich mal aus.

Die Ausschnitte der Arte-Doku waren gar nicht aus irgendeinem Solarpunk-Film, sondern aus einer Werbung (Auftragsarbeit für #Chobani) aus der Feder des Animationsstudios #TheLine mit Titel #DearAlice.

Der Kommentarbereich ist wie so oft lesenswert: Man schüttelt den Kopf über Einwegbecher und darüber, dass diese 79 Sekunden Joghurtwerbung als ikonisches Videomaterial zitiert werden, weil es sonst nichts Brauchbares gibt.

Kann mir jemand ein besser geeignetes Kaninchenloch in die Welt der #SolarpunkArt weisen? Am besten auch familientauglich?

Prevención de la desigualdad

El experimento de los 5 monos (multimillonarios)

El "Experimento de los Cinco Monos" es una historia ampliamente difundida en internet que describe cómo un grupo de monos enjaulados aprende a evitar una acción (subir una escalera para alcanzar un plátano) debido a un castigo colectivo (un chorro de agua fría), incluso después de que todos los monos originales han sido reemplazados y ninguno ha experimentado el castigo.

Al igual que en el experimento original de los 5 monos y la escalera donde ningún mono logra alcanzar los plátanos, en sociedad nadie debe lograr convertirse en multimillonario, no porque una autoridad central lo impida, sino porque el propio tejido social impida la concentración extrema de riqueza.

Cada vez que alguien llega demasiado alto en la escalera económica (acumulando riqueza extrema), la sociedad en su conjunto recibe un castigo correctivo: crisis económicas, degradación ambiental, conflictos sociales o pérdida de derechos fundamentales. Ante este daño colectivo, las personas aprenden a rechazar la acumulación excesiva de riqueza.

Con el tiempo, cuando un nuevo individuo intenta acaparar más recursos de los que necesita, la propia sociedad, ya sin necesidad de intervención externa, se encarga de impedirlo. Los ciudadanos, sin recordar exactamente el castigo original, han interiorizado que permitir que alguien monopolice la riqueza solo traerá problemas para todos. Así, cada vez que alguien intenta construir una fortuna desproporcionada, la comunidad lo disuade, evitando que se establezca una élite permanente.
