Excited to see these color bars from when we emptied the silver furnace. It looks like the purple darkened a bunch after annealing the bar.... And some silver got into it when I was making the bar (I gathered over a bunch of the silver glass and messed up the bar twice, folding it back onto itself each time).
I may be running out of red phosphor to make the nice red and green warm mixed white, but I have almost a kilo of "3800 K" white and I'm mixin up some.
I want to coat a test tube soon with the silver colors. It would be more beige than brown I think.I am super happy to hear that people around Urbanglass are really curious about the color. Everyone that used it wants to melt it again.
I think it's only about $10 a pound in materials an shipping to make it- not including the cost to rent the furnace. Most silver color bars are over $40 per pound. I do love the communal aspect of the public furnace#Urbanglass #nyc #glassblowing #residency #color #sculpture #Brooklyn #silver
