  7. Part 8
    Takamatsu Castle Park

There is also a small museum inside the garden.
It is a little bit hidden but interesting.
At the entrance you are greeted by Kamado Tanjiro (Demon Slayer: Kimestu no Yaiba)

  8. Part 7
    Takamatsu Castle Park

The bonsai trees, which always appear in groups, have found themselves a sunny spot.

  9. Part 6
    Takamatsu Castle Park

Some japanese ricefish / medaka chilling in their pot.
They are very popular and held as pets since centuries.
Some medaka even flew to space :)

  10. Part 4
    Takamatsu Castle Park

As always, the castle also has extremely steep steps...

I am also always amazed by the woodwork.
How they connect things without a nail!

  11. Part 3
    Takamatsu Castle Park

You can also go inside (after the usual shoe removing).
    It was so cool inside!
I don't know how, but the older buildings like traditional, old houses (samurai houses), castles, etc. stay so cool and have a great airflow. It is awesome.

  12. Part 2
    Takamatsu Castle Park

Like the castle in Okayama the Takamatsu castle feels less touristy like Himeji castle.
Over all the time spent in the garden was very relaxing.

  14. Part 13
    Takahashi

There is also a real cat manhole on the street!

After some more english - japanese or japanese english I had to keep going to my next goal where all these cat pictures and cat manholes will start to make sense.

  15. Part 12
    Takahashi

There is also a sedan chair for "small people" in the second house!
And there is a video running about a cat and a manhole cover with a cat.

The lady in the second house also wanted to explain things to me with a note in English while simultaneously speaking Japanese. When I apologized in Japanese for my poor Japanese, I received the reply: "iie iie me Nihongo only sumimasen" - She was so nice :)

  16. Part 11
    Takahashi

In both houses, the weapons are placed on the ceiling near the main entrance, saving space but keeping them within easy reach.

  17. Part 10
    Takahashi

Since she had forgotten to warn me beforehand that there was a samurai doll that moved via a motion detector, she came running again to warn Austria-san (She had previously asked me where I am from, and lacking a name, I became Austria-san :) ).

To be honest, I probably would have been really scared.

  18. Part 9
    Takahashi

According to the lady, the sedan chair is "for small people" in English, but in Japanese (she switched languages frequently) it's for children :)

The left side of the stove is for rice and the right side is for soup because of the shap of the top if I understood correctly.

  19. Part 8
    Takahashi

Inside is also a small "Samurai Museum" as the nice Lady said :)
What looks like a landmine is actually a lantern!

  20. Part 7
    Takahashi

In Bukeyashiki-dori there are two traditional samurai houses to see for 500 ¥ (Orii family & Haibara family)

The lady at the Orii family house was so nice.
She asked me if I could wait a moment (in Japanese) so she could bill the other visitors. Then she came back with a handwritten notepad on which she had written everything down in Japanese & English to give me a quick tour & then run back to her counter.

  21. Part 6
    Takahashi

Raikyū-ji is really a nice place and worth a visit!
The view out of the temple!
