America Sanctions ICC President and Trial Lawyer
Following the start of the campaign to dismantle the International Criminal Court’s (ICC) threat to national sovereignty, the United States Department of State announced it has sanctioned two ICC officials namely their president Tomoko Akane of Japan and trial lawyer Abdoulaye Seye of Senegal.
To put things in perspective, posted below is the entire statement of the US State Department by Secretary Marco Rubio. Some parts in boldface…
The Trump Administration has been clear: the International Criminal Court (ICC) is a corrupt and fatally politicized supranational court that has maliciously abused its authority and exceeded its mandate. We will not tolerate its assault on state sovereignty.
In furtherance of the diplomatic campaign we launched last month to address the ICC’s abuses of power, I am designating two ICC officials – President of the ICC, Tomoko Akane of Japan, and ICC Senior Trial Lawyer, Abdoulaye Seye of Senegal – pursuant to Executive Order 14203, “Imposing Sanctions on the International Criminal Court.” These individuals have directly engaged in efforts by the ICC to investigate, arrest, detain, or prosecute officials whose government has not consented to ICC jurisdiction.
The ICC has repeatedly attempted to assert authority over nationals of the United States and other countries that have not consented to its jurisdiction or ratified the Rome Statute. This sets a dangerous precedent for all nations.
Our whole of government campaign to dismantle the threat posed by the ICC to national sovereignty will be sweeping and we expect more countries to join our campaign by ending their funding and participation in this politicized and unaccountable court. The ICC’s ability to target American nationals and those of other non-States Parties must end. The Trump Administration stands ready to take additional measures, if necessary, to systematically dismantle the ICC until it is incapable of threatening American sovereignty.

Do you think other nations that are in conflict with the ICC’s encroachment and abuse of power will support rally behind the United States and support sanctioning of officials? Qur’anic Calligraphy in Mosque Architecture: Text, Power and Sacred Space
Why do particular Qur’anic verses appear on a dome, a mihrab, a threshold or a lamp—and what changes when those words are read in the precise place for which they were chosen?
The new illustrated study, Qur’anic Calligraphy in Mosque Architecture, follows that question from Islam’s Three Harams—Masjid al-Haram in Mecca, the Prophet’s ﷺ Mosque in Medina and al-Haram al-Sharif/al-Aqsa in Jerusalem—through Umayyad, Fatimid, Seljuk, Mamluk, Ottoman, Safavid and modern patronage. Its chronology identifies the verse, inscription site, political order and evidential basis for each case, while distinguishing documented interpretation from careful contextual inference.
Special attention is given to calligraphic bands around dome bases: words that encircle worshippers, articulate the transition from wall to vault and turn architecture into a field of recitation. The study also examines historic mosque lamps. It corrects a common conflation at al-Aqsa: the fourteenth-century Tankiz lamp carries Qur’an 9:18, whereas the Light Verse—Qur’an 24:35—is characteristic of other Mamluk mosque lamps whose luminous function makes the text’s placement especially resonant.
The appendix consolidates 115 cited āyāt from 27 sūrahs in canonical order. Every āyah is given in verified Uthmani Arabic with Sahih International English immediately beneath it and a direct Quran.com link. The English is reproduced under the stated digital-reuse permission with attribution; Quran.com’s explanatory-note callouts are omitted, while the verse wording and punctuation are preserved. The dossier includes historic photographs, object records, governance context and 29 verified sources.
Readers are also invited to consider the larger historical horizon. The Qur’an describes the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as al-nabī al-ummī—often translated “the unlettered Prophet” (Qur’an 7:157) but perhaps untaught Prophet is more apt —whose proclamation ignited a revolution in moral, religious and educational consciousness. Within a generation of his death, the Sasanian Empire had ended and the Christian Byzantine Empire had lost Syria, Palestine and Egypt, although the Byzantine state survived until 1453, as his message continued to spread. Across later centuries, diverse Muslim societies translated, tested and extended Greek, Persian, Indian and other inheritances, advancing astronomy and related sciences alongside medicine, mathematics, engineering, water systems and institutions of urban life. Through awqāf, lived Muslim culture redistributed wealth and endowed schools, hospitals, fountains, libraries and devotional buildings. This was not a one-cause civilisational miracle, but a cumulative human achievement within an Islamic moral and institutional worldview whose intellectual, charitable and architectural legacy remains vibrantly present today.
With its chronological tables, dome-band studies and forensic source notes, the study treats Qur’anic calligraphy not as ornamental filler, but as revelation situated within devotional architecture, worship, patronage and political history.

Libraries hold a special place in my heart, for reasons both intellectual and sentimental.
Librarians are guardians of knowledge, champions of freedom, and friends of the people. They are community members, dedicated to helping connect poor people with relevant information, so they can improve their minds, educate themselves, and access job resources.
After I became a #whistleblower in 2023, and was made #homeless , this notion was challenged.

I had applied to be a board member of the libraries in Hawai’i after attending their meetings, and saw some corruption there.

King David Kalākaua was forced to sign what is called the "Bayonet Constitution". Queen Liliuokalani asserted that Kalākaua's life was threatened: "He signed that constitution under absolute compulsion."Now Hawai’i is full of churches, their own gods are vanishing from memory, thanks to the “librarians”. There’s poverty, a drug epidemic, and seething discontent on the streets. Hawai’ian people are heavily overpoliced, thrown into jail without cause, and denied #justice in the #courts of the occupiers ( #USA ).
All this is hidden from the casual tourist, content to visit a golf course on the sacred land, that has been bulldozed, and be served drinks by little brown people ( usually from the Marshall Islands, Hawai’i locals have mostly left for minimum wage jobs in mainland America ).
Billionaires, like Mark Zuckerberg, Larry Ellison, Jeff Bezos, and Oprah Winfrey, “own” huge chunks of the land.
Chinese billionaire, Eva Liu, has controlled the Punalu’u Black Sand beach, with a sweetheart deal ( $1 ), and is proposing erasing this natural landmark, spawning site of the endangered Saddleback Turtles, and building resorts there, in the name of “development”.
In 2022, the Hawai’ian people had a setback in court.
