  1. Just finished reading "Holler: A Graphic Memoir of Rural Resistance" by Denali Sai Nalamalapu. An excellent graphic novel about resistance to the Mountain Valley Pipeline in Virginia and West Virginia. Although the pipeline is sadly operational today, resistance delayed it by more than twice the originally-planned timeline, and increased the cost tremendously. This kind of action increases cost and risk projections for pipelines all around the world and slows down capitalist extraction even where it can't stop it.

    The book is lovely, drawn from interviews with 6 different activists and including a variety of perspectives on resistance, including an indigenous perspective. A gray thing to read if you're into #SolarPunk, #anarchism, or #ClimateJustice, or just curious. I've included a picture of a page talking about building towards future communities here.

  10. Nothing is inevitable. Holding on to tenderness, to the will to create alternative systems of care, safety and love. That is my offering, we are enough and we will remember.

    [Image Description: illustration of a mother pigeon and her baby. The mom is grey with green, purple and teal highlights, the baby is yellow with few feathers and their eyes are still shut. At the very top reads the text: “nothing is inevitable!” In red. End of description]

  12. Zum Hintergrund:

    In #Berlin ist der #Denkmalschutz dreistufig organisiert:

    1️⃣ Die #UntereDenkmalschutzbehörde (OD) sitzt beim jeweiligen Bezirk;

    2️⃣ die mittlere Ebene ist das #Landesdenkmalamt;

    3️⃣ die #ObereDenkmalschutzbehörde (OD) sitzt beim #Senat.

    In Streitfällen entscheidet die OD, und diese ist der #Senatorin weisungsgebunden.

    Hier geht es also um freie Schusslinie für die #Baulobby.
