Interesting conundrum that I have come across and solved, I think, sensibly.
I am on holiday with my kid in a bush cabin. I do it every year and it is usually my friends that come and a single friend of my kid. This year I decided that it would be mostly my kids friends.
They are all 18ish. So we have rooms with multiple beds in and I naively thought I should separate them by gender like we ‘used to do’ to stop hanky panky.
But we have a trans person and a same sex couple and it occurred to me that the separation shouldn’t be to stop hanky panky but just for privacy and comfort.So I asked them who they wanted to be with and left it at that. It is going very well. If there is anything sexual going on, I am not aware of it, and frankly they are adults and can do whatever in the privacy of their room. They know the walls are paper thin and they respect that some people don’t have partners or their partners here so there is very little overt sexual overtones.
The kids are alright.

I came under attack today from some very militant members of the hard left. They swore at me and attacked me with a ferocity which I found to be quite surprising. I think if you spend your time in normal society going to work, talking with coworkers and friends, you just get used to the idea that ideas can be discussed and debated and that angry personal attacks are not a normal way for us to interact with each other.
Given that I run my own instance, I only had two server rules on it, and not much in the description. Now, I have created one of the best constitutions I have ever seen for skyhaven.social - from here out, it shall indeed be a haven, for civil minded free thinkers. You can be left or right, gay, bi, trans or straight and you will be welcome but, you must not attack others for their point of view. Debate yes, attack no.
