  3. ORCHESTRE TOUT PUISSANT MARCEL DUCHAMP XXL (CH)

OCCII, Sunday, March 7 at 08:00 PM GMT+1

OCCII ON TOUR! Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp XXL @ Willem de Zwijgerkerk, olympiaweg 14 Amsterdam.

Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp is a perpetually evolving ‘orchestra’, loosely modelled on the great 20th-century African groups like Tout Puissant Orchestre Poly-Rythmo de Cotonou and tipping its hat to revolutionary French artist Marcel Duchamp.

New album “Ventre Unique” – their sixth, and the successor to 2021’s acclaimed We’re Ok But We’re Lost Anyway – is as exuberant as it is emotionally fraught with a dream amalgam of folk, krautrock, post-punk and African rhythms that feels both uncluttered and beautifully organic. The album has been released on Bongo Joe Records (Vincent Bertholet co-founded the label with Cyril Yeterian), with band and label both sharing a collective vision that was forged from Geneva’s punk history and squat scene. It finds them once again exploring contemporary anxieties and setting them to music that balances fat, loping grooves – built around simple loops written by Bertholet – sparkling marimba, strident horns and strings with dissonance and angular guitar riffs. The beautiful sleeve art comes courtesy of French painter Dove Perspicacius. The recording of Ventre Unique took place over ten days in a studio near Paris, Studio Midilive in Villetaneuse, and was overseen by Johannes Buff who mixed the previous “We’re Ok But We’re Lost Anyway.”

The orchestra is comprised of an international cast of 12 musicians including many OTPMD regulars: Frenchman Gilles Poizat on bugle, lead vocalist Liz Moscarola, two marimba players (Aïda Diop and Elena Beder), two drummers (Gabriel Valtchev and Guillaume Lantonnet), guitarists (Romane Millet and Titi), a trombonist (Gif), a viola-player (Thomas Malnati-Levier), a cellist (Naomi Mabanda) and Bertholet on double bass. Every one of the musicians is a singer too, contributing to the glorious mass of vocals that gives OTPMD songs their emotional resonance and ritualistic power. They also worked with new vocalists: Mara Krastina (who will be more involved with the group in future) from Swiss band Massicot on Smiling Like A Flower and François Marry from French group Frànçois and the Atlas Mountains – you can hear the latter’s distinctively lilting tone on Tout Haut. Following the release of We’re Ok But We’re Lost Anyway also on Swiss label Bongo Joe, the group – a travelling party of 14 people, including two sound engineers – crossed numerous borders themselves, playing around 150 shows and touring in territories they’d never visited before: Canada, USA, the Balkans, Greece.

    who suffered

This music performance is dedicated to the innocent civilians who have been killed, and are still being killed, in Ukraine. It carries a grief that can’t be put into words, the heavy sadness of seeing death and massive destruction in Ukraine every day.

When noise enters the human body. When rope meets the human body. They draw out the last drop of conscious thought, carrying us into a field where the soul moves through us — a state beyond thought, beyond presence.

    Harde Tante (intermezzo)

    (((about Noisy Kinks)))

“Noisy Kinks” (aka Kinky Noise, Kink and Noise) is a concert and sound-performance series about the playful relationship between non-mainstream sexuality, gender and sound experimentation, with emphasis on noise music. Originally started by schoco mune and noa margulis in Amsterdam in 2022.

This edition explores new ways for the body and kink to meet onstage, in dialogue with sound experimentation. We ask how we utilize our bodies, how we perceive and activate their power, and what happens when we allow them to speak for themselves.

Throughout the night, artists will engage with their bodies beyond normative sexual gender behaviour, placing them in unexpected contexts and exploring movement, sensation, presence, and play. The body becomes both a medium and a site of discovery—capable of expressing desire, resistance, vulnerability, transformation, and freedom from the nonconsensual corset of normative social expectations.

  5. Our History: Three Documentaries

Molli Chaoot, Friday, November 20 at 07:00 PM GMT+1

Our History: Three Documentaries. This autumn, we are doing a documentary series of three films about recent memory from below. Protests in Amsterdam, persecution of communists in Indonesia, and the clandestine party scene.

The third film will be shown on Friday the 20th of November at Molli: f{r}ee, food will be served at 19h, and we will start the film at 20h, followed by discussion.

    F[r]ee (2022):
    (English, French, Italian)

On the 1st of May 2026, a music festival, "le teknival", was illegally organized on military grounds in France, the attendance of which the ministry of the interior explicitly prohibited. 40 000 people showed up.  For over 30 years, these "free parties" have been organized in Europe, in face of ever increasing efforts of suppression by European governments. What can we learn from this resilient and popular left-wing anarchist music culture? F[r]ee summarizes different aspects of the free party movement which has retained the spirit of the 1989 cultural revolution of the UK.

Join us for a dinner, documentary screening, and open conversations!

  6. Our History: Three Documentaries

Molli Chaoot, Friday, October 16 at 07:00 PM GMT+2

Our History: Three Documentaries. This autumn, we are doing a documentary series of three films about recent memory from below. Protests in Amsterdam, persecution of communists in Indonesia, and the clandestine party scene.

The second film will be shown on Friday the 16th of October at Molli: The Act of Killing, food will be served at 19h, and we will start the film at 20h, followed by discussion.
    The Act of Killing (2012)
    (Indonesian, subtitled English)

The Act of Killing is a documentary film following individuals who participated in the Indonesian mass killings of 1965-66, wherein (alleged) communists and people opposed to the New Order regime were tortured and killed. The perpetrators still hold positions of power in the country. In the film, they reenact their killings and talk about their actions openly, following the psychological journey facing the topic.

Join us for a dinner, documentary screening, and open conversations!

  7. PARTY DOZEN & IONA IORGU - THE WORMHOLE CULT

Oedipus Craft Space, Wednesday, December 2 at 08:30 PM GMT+1

    Party Dozen
Sydney's sax-and-drums duo Party Dozen take their fifth album, 21 Bum Salute (out 6 November on City Slang), on the road. Recorded, mixed and mastered entirely by Kirsty Tickle and Jonathan Boulet, it boils years of jams and loops down to little more than half an hour of their loosest, most fun music yet, including the single "Euro Stomper". Live, it only gets louder.Kirsty screams her saxophone through a wall of effects, Jono hits the drums like a full band, and no two shows are the same. After a year that took them from the Sydney Opera House to Red Rocks with Amyl & The Sniffers, they close out 2026 with a BANG!

    Iona Iorgu
Ioana Iorgu crafts a hypnotic, shadow-lit soundscape. An immersive wall of sound, drawing from the weight of doom, the haze of shoegaze, and the edge of post-punk fused into one, cohesive force. As distorted guitars, layered in thick reverbs, swell and splinter over thunderous drums, her vocals move like a double-edged sword: soft and intimate, then suddenly breaking open, cutting through with a crushing intensity.

  10. Bon biní na mi soño

Felix Meritis, Saturday, November 21 at 08:00 PM GMT+1

    Welcome to my dream

Step into the dream of a director of life. But what does it feel like to be inside a dream you have no control over? During this evening, Felix Meritis becomes the stage for Juny Martina’s dream world: a journey through music, film, performance and visual art. Moving between different worlds and social realities, Juny Martina explores the tensions between theory and lived experience, rap and other musical genres, Curaçao and the Netherlands, Papiamentu and Dutch, the individual and the collective.

The evening unfolds as a dream within a dream. Hosted by Zion Piggot, the audience is taken through different chapters of Martina’s imagined world, while live performances and visual works interrupt, challenges and reshapes the narrative.

Alongside Juny Martina’s musical performance, the programme also features work by visual artists Kain Toppenberg and Bruno Aguilar, a short film by Luis Mendoza, and performances and appearances by Zion Piggot, MC Theo, DJ Sjenks, Nixon Joseph, Nemesis, Amy Miyu, josh., MV and Denko. We end the night with an afterparty by BULGAR.

A night about ambition, class, identity and the complicated desire to be seen. About the distance between who we are and who we think we need to become. And when the dream is over, the night continues.

    Line-up

    JUNY MARTINA
Juny Martina’s artistry is a fusion of Papiamentu wordplay, social critique, storytelling, and cinematic symbolism. Through his music, he challenges the systems that shape our sense of identity, sharing personal stories, philosophical questions, and sharp observations. His work moves between island and diaspora, personal experiences and collective history.

    ZION PIGGOTT
Zion Piggott is a cultural heritage professional, educator, researcher, and translator, born and raised in Curaçao. His work explores language, heritage, identity, and the ways in which knowledge is documented, transmitted, and made accessible. He writes historical and cultural articles in Papiamentu, among other things, and has a particular interest in making knowledge accessible in one’s own language, especially when it concerns topics closely connected to identity, history, and culture. In this work, he examines which stories are documented and passed on, which perspectives are represented, and who has access to this knowledge.

    NEMESIS
Nemesis is an Aruban-born singer/singerwriter blending alternative R&B, neo-soul, and indie pop. Through dreamy vocals and honest songwriting, she explores self-discovery, womanhood, personal growth, and the lessons life leaves along the way.

    SJENKS
Sjenks is a Curaçao-born, Amsterdam-based DJ whose sound is shaped by culture, movement and instinct. Drawing inspiration from the Caribbean, Latin America, Africa, Europe and the US, he blends Afro-Caribbean rhythms with electronic energy, percussive club sounds and feel-good melodies. Rather than staying within one genre, Sjenks focuses on creating the right feeling at the right moment. From warm grooves to peak-time energy, his sets keep people moving and bring the room together.

    AMY MIYÚ
Amy Miyú is an entertainer with Curaçaoan roots whose music and creative energy are deeply connected to her Caribbean identity. Following a celebrated debut, she built a solo career with collaborations alongside artists and producers including Yung Felix, Rochelle, Lady Bee, and Laidback Luke.

Blending moombahton, dancehall, house, and rap, Amy moves effortlessly between Papiamentu, Dutch, and English. With her vibrant personality and dynamic stage presence, she continues to expand her artistic world through music, live performance, and film, bringing the spirit of the islands to new audiences.

    THEO ROBERTS
Theo Roberts is an all-round MC, presenter and entertainer with a natural feel for crowds, music and the moment. With a microphone in hand from a young age, he brings warmth, confidence and energy to every event.

Whether introducing artists, hyping up the crowd or keeping an event flowing, Theo knows how to read the room and adapt to the moment. His style is energetic, spontaneous and authentic, creating connections and turning moments into lasting memories.

    BRUNO AGUILAR
Bruno Aguilar is a marketer and creative director with over seven years of experience across the architectural and cultural sector. He has a passion for helping culture-driven brands and artists shape their campaigns through strategic research, human-led creative storytelling, and productions.

    V888

    JOSH.
Josh. is a Curaçaoan artist, producer, songwriter, and percussionist whose music blends storytelling, lyricism, and self-reflection. Passionate about songwriting in Papiamentu, he explores love, relationships, and the human experience while preserving the art of storytelling in his native language.

His solo journey began with the 2020 EP Mientras nos ta warda, followed by his introspective debut album Esaki ta amor? in 2024. Alongside his solo career, Josh. is a member of HSPRTY, a group blending bubbling, dancehall, and upbeat party sounds.

    DENKO

Denko is a Curaçao-born, Netherlands-based Hip-Hop artist, rapper and producer bringing Papiamentu lyricism to a modern boombap sound. Rooted in Hip-Hop culture, he blends sharp lyricism with dusty textures and clean, contemporary production. With many years of experience as a producer and emcee, Denko approaches music as both a craftsman and storyteller. His work explores identity, culture and personal growth, carrying the essence of Curaçao into the wider Hip-Hop landscape.
