I can see that Chinese water and air might carry different elements, but, broadly - hydroponics are made to be same-same *everywhere*, aren't they? What exactly are the elements contributing to the 'fingerprint' here? If they are in the water, you'd call them 'contaminants' and try to filter them out, or if they are part of the hydroponic system, you'd call them 'additives' and make sure you put them in.

Is it possible that they are measuring the brandname of the hydroponic system?
