1988 U.S. CD 💿 issueAwesome little find today!
As much as I love the #90s Trees output (and I do LOVE IT), the major label money and production value made them a bit of a different band in comparison to the earlier SST albums like this one.
Their earlier records lean more into hazy & heavy #psychedelic #garage rock than the #grunge -a-riffic albums from the halcyon 90s alternative days.
I don’t see a lot of these early SST Trees albums lying around on CD, nevermind vinyl.
It’s a bit of a shock to hear Lanegan’s vocals on these albums if all you’re familiar with is the deep, gravelly voice from their heyday.
Here, his voice is much higher-pitched, and perhaps not yet affected by a lifelong journey into drugs.A pretty great album, with one of my all time favorite Trees tunes in “Smokerings”.

Today I'm completely removing the #Hetzner Object Storage service from my account, marking a month of successful hosting of object storage for my #GlitchySocial #Mastodon instance myself.
#Garage cluster is so good, I don't even remember I have it. It's just sitting there doing its work of storing and serving almost 200 000 objects already.

It mostly turned out like the drawing!
I wanted to make a bin for glues and such for my garage and use it as a chance to practice rabbet & dado joints on the table saw. It’s 1/2” ply with a dadoed in luan bottom. A few small mistakes along the way, but I’m happy with how it came out for my first attempt at a box.
Sadly I don’t have screws short enough to attach the French cleat, so gotta wait for the next hardware store run before I can put it to use.

I have one problem in my #homelab in terms of failure recovery. My #Proxmox cluster has three nodes - three physical machines. In case of any machine failure, I can migrate critical guests to two others. Except for the #Garage object storage.
Two of the machines have additional SATA SSDs used by the #Garage cluster nodes. In case of one of them failing, I can’t migrate Garage data by moving an SSD to another machine because the third machine doesn’t have a SATA port… -
