Ich will doch nicht viel. Ich will einfach nur bei OpenStreetmap im Browser anmelden, ein Lesezeichen setzen, und es auf meinem Android in OSMand~ wieder abrufen können.
Ich tu alles, wirklich!! Ich installiere ein PlugIn für Nextcloud, ich make ein Github Projekt, ich hoste einen service auf meinem Pi, aber lasst mich doch bitte ENDLICH einen Anflug von Moderne mit OpernStreetMap erleben.

I love the wiki concept. DokuWiki is probably in my top five favorite wiki software options. Great application to get started with self-hosting.

Interesting traffic on my self-hosted secrets manager this morning. I saw a spike in HTTP traffic around 01:16CET (when everyone was asleep) and a high number of 404 errors in my dashboard. Checked the traefik access logs and it was someone scanning for WordPress vulnerabilities (/admin.php). Glad I am able to dignose those sorts of things in my #homelab #selfhost environment

It doesn't need any database and is highly customizable. Although you can setup user-accounts, it follows sophisticated access-rules out-of-the-box for single files, groups of files or user-defined parts of the wiki.
Install, backup, restore or duplicate works just by (FTP-)filecopy - very simple and exactly what i was looking for.

I concur with most of what you say about small little Federated services getting a little bit more attention. Like #Mastodon here. And also the durability of these old ancient protocols that continues to persist, even though most people have no idea what goes on underneath.
I’m currently moving backwards to #Teamspeak and himself hosting my own server. It’s delightful! I used to do it a lot more, but I got out of the habit of it mostly due to full-time job and convenience.
But now nowadays, I’m getting much more into it and I’m also going to set up my own little #Apache, Web server, and mean a few friends are gonna make a #WebRing I’m really quite excited to see what it has in store for us.
I’m also eager to continue putting up more and more services and encouraging my friends and family to use them. There is a very high base reluctance for any of them to switch off of what they’re currently doing or using. Meaning they just don’t wanna do it.
But I got a fair enough of people to get off of #Discord. And I’m eager to continue pushing people in what I feel is the right direction.

I had Microsoft Bingbot somehow "guess" a very specific URL that I only pass around to five people to host ZIP Files. The TLD replies 410/401 on it, no path to the ZIPs.
Then my non-public URL and it's contents got indexed on Bing so I had to password protect the whole thing.
